My mother needed to be warmer and more comfortable in bed during the winter. She lives in NE Ohio so damp cold winters were a given. She did not want to layer on more blankets. We took a trip to Ikea and she came away with one of their memory foam mattress toppers (also available online.) Only about 2 1/2 in height, we were able to take it off her bed this summer, rolled it up and store it away. The topper will be a year old this month. We unrolled it yesterday, washed the cover and put it back on her bed. She loves this topper. Memory foam is warmer than a regular mattress topper.

Did anyone notice the snow? To bring on some bad mojo, I wish I had temps that allowed for some snow right about now. That aside: My "Weird Al" neighbor (yes, he went by that name) stole neon yellow paint from a state construction crew and painted his Queen Anne Victorian with the paint. Queen Anne's run to about twelve rooms so they are really big homes. When the neighborhood association tried to get him to repaint, he declared himself a Wiccan and involked religious freedom. That whole house could be painted yellow so you might consider yourself lucky.

I am now a very, very happy person. Love this home. The quasi-traditional furnishings take me back to my roots. Bet she and I rubbed elbows at some of those flee markets in and around Charleston! Though not sure I would have a surf board in any of my rooms, I do have a stuffed elf in a painted banana frond on my living room coffee table! You live on Park Circle! Gosh, life is just not fair. Moved up North years ago. Thank you for allowing me to live vicariously threw your collections. Bye, y'all.
