I would also go for the light floor with dark cabinets. The light floor is more versatile and you can also combine it with light cabinets. It is also easier to find matching furniture and fabrics for the light floor than for the dark floor, which has a very specific tone. When I look at both pictures, the light floor gives me a better feeling and the atmosphere is nicer. For the dark floor I would definitely buy a big fluffy rug in cream. The very first thing that I would do is to paint the wooden cabinets white. This would completely change the appearance of the room. Maybe you can try to convince the owner. Anyway pink and white go well together. Another option is to buy foil for the cabinets, although it's a pity that this would hide the nice wood. How To Prioritize Work on Dated Kitchen and Bath?
