Dear Trumystique, good value has its price. If you close look at the Zanotta Susanna chair then you will recognize, that especially in the back there are lots of constructive details that could be made cheaper but in the end will turn the whole chair worse. I personally own a Susanna and must say it's an indestructible piece of furniture that I don't want to miss. I think one shpuld not try to save money in the wrong places – it will never pay off. That's at least my experience when it comes to quality...

NY Good Questions: Cheaper Version of the Susanna Chair?

Correct, in Europe the LTR is distributed by Vitra. Vitra has since the 1950s a joint agreement with Herman Miller to represent all Eames products in Europe and the Middle East. Just found a georgeous website with original Eames chairs (though the LTR table is lacking). My favourite Eames piece is the DSR chair: same construction like the LTR, but beautifully translated into a side chair, hava a look eames dsr, what do you think ? Curious for your opinions...

It is definitively the Kilt-Sofa (kilt-quilt describes the relief-sitting surface). Quilted seats (often with buttons) were very popular in english clubs with those glossy leather sofas gthat often came in dark green colour.
The Kilt sofa and chair was designed in 2009 by Emaf progetti, the inhouse design department at Zanotta. It seems to be still in producton these days.

'No mention of Le Corbusier?...Le Corbusier initiated the Thonet into the pantheon of high modernism during his Purist phase.'

You are right, but Le Corbusiers favourite Thonet design (actually, Le Corbusiers famous LC 2, LC3 and the chaise longue, LC 4 that are these days are licensed to Cassina were initially produced by Thonet France) was the B9 (today it is called Nr. 209) which he used throughout his architectural work and even at his dining table at home, along with a safari chair by RudRasmussen in other palces of his flat.
Following website gives you a nice overview over the most important designs accomlished by Michael Thonet with historic details, in German): http://www.archetypen.ch/hersteller/thonet.html

Why not use a stool instead of a side table. A stool (like Sergio Rodrigues famous Mocho, that also fits the Diz chair beautifully, both by Sergio Rodrigues) is more versatile (you can also sit on it) and less formal.
I think stools are often better side tables, and if they have an uneven sitting surface, just add a plate on top.

'Eileen Gray Stainless Steel Accent Table via Overstock $129.99'
Please be aware that these are knock-offfs (illegal since a copyright infringement) and never produced to the quality standards of the original.
The things with the original E1027 (produced by Classicon®) is that it is about 4-5 times more expensive but will last at least a lifetime. Moreover it will not lose its value, menaing that your children will be able to sell it at almost the price you paid or even higher anytime in the future, whereas a knock-off will loose 95% of the price you pay by the time that you unpack your delivery.

Furthermore knock-offs for their low target price must be produced sacrificing detail + quality – that is not a very good starting point for a happy and longöasting relationship; )
I agree, originals like Grays E 1027- side table are no bargain – but they are it for a good reason. Else theay wouldn't be around anaymore, believe me.
So, when it comes to classics think twice.

Cool, on the first picture you show a mini-desk with 3 working platforms (1 main, 2 lateral + smaller ones on each side).
My friend is an interior architect and sent me following link:
Scrittarello.
Does onyone know where I can buy this desk in London ?
(model: Scritarello, brand: DePadova).
Thanks for any advice

Hoew do you guys find this fan – looks pretty unique to me since it is not a common celing but a stand type instead. Its speed seems to be shiftably adjustable although I don't know whether it has passed UL-cerfification (safety tag-stuff...)

Although insanely expensive at first sight this might be the quintessence of bbq-design:
created in italy the lib-lab range is made from massive stainless steel components that can be repalced over time or when it gets hit by a flash ; ) and will surely survive any of us ... but still, the price tag... maybe one day : ) ... maybe never
