the sink is from IKEA, believe it or not . . . the cabinet was a bitch to put together but I think it was well worth it. It has held up quite nicely over the past two years. The basin is called "braviken", and the cabinet is called "godmorgan". Mark's Delightful (and Delicious!) West Village HomeHouse Tour |

Thanks so much for all of the love! The only reason I left that corner white was because I thought if I had painted the whole room green, it would have been too much. And since my headboard is really short, I wanted to draw attention to it . . . plus the wooden deer I have mounted above my bed wouldn't pop against green. So it was kind of just an obvious solution, lol. And if you happen to live in the NYC area, I won't need to fed ex cake to you . . . you can get it at the restaurant! thanks so much! The kitchen island was a very lucky ebay find . . . it took me about a year to find something the right size, price, and that was functional enough to be used a lot. Mark's Delightful (and Delicious!) West Village HomeHouse Tour |

Great studio Michelle! I especially love the piece you used for an island in your kitchen; I have a similar setup. In fact, Liana photographed my apartment for AT a few months back. Great minds think alike! Michelle's Sweet and Eclectic Studio House Tour |

@shopgirlny, The color I believe is "purple rain" by Benjamin Moore, although I can't be certain. I helped my room mate pick it out a long time ago and she has since moved out and the wall has been painted another color by another room mate, lol. Mark's Delightful (and Delicious!) Again, many thanks for all of the love! I wish I could comment on individual posts or send people a message (maybe, AT . . . if you see this, you should consider it!) To answer a few more questions: The print behind my couch is from YellowKorner in Soho. It is a digital print backed with aluminum. There is not glass over the print. The orangey liquid in the square vase with flowers was dyed that way naturally by the flowers (we had just cut them). I actually didn't even see it until Liana had finished up with the photo shoot because it was in my room mates room . . . weird, huh? And as for the orange painting, that is an original done by me in high school, haha, it's the only one I've kept over the years! Finally, as suggested by JUKESGRRL, I would love to meet anybody that lives in the NYC area who loves design as much as I do! Mark's Delightful (and Delicious!) West Village HomeHouse Tour |

Hi! Thank you all so much for the support and positive feedback on my home! It has been a labor of love to get it to where it is. To answer some of your questions and address some concerns (mainly about square footage) -yes, 475 square feet was an estimation by myself and my room mate who majored in interior architecture. I went through the apartment and measured the three main rooms tonight. It turns out that this place may be closer to 450 square feet! So here is how everything breaks down: my bedroom (the green one) is 10' x 9'6". My room mates room (the purple one) is 7.4" x 14'6"....both measurments include the closet space. The main area, including the bathroom, 2 pantrys, entry, living room, and kitchen measures 16' 6" x 14' 6". I plugged all of these numbers into a square footage calculator I found online and found that the total was about 440.55 square feet. To be fair, the apartment looks FAR bigger in the pictures than it does in real life with the help of wide angle lenses :-). I also think that defining different spaces through color also makes a space feel much bigger. As for the other questions....the second bedroom is my room mates room. I had a slight influence on how it looked, however, she did a lot herself. Unfortunately, she moved out 2 days after the photoshoot for AP, so now I am looking forward to my new room mate moving in! And for the people asking about her rug, it's by Angela Adams Mark's Delightful (and Delicious!) West Village HomeHouse Tour |
