I have a dryer but never use it. I think it's a wasteful consumption of electricity when line drying is so easy. Like others have said before me...during the summer, there's nice outdoors smell and during the winter, the added humidity is very necessary. Clothes last longer, I never iron (you just have to hang the clothes right) and the "crunchiness" just isn't a problem after a few minutes. I've never understood the need to have everything you want right away, patience is something sorely missing in today's world. Have You Lived Without a Dryer? I put flor tiles in my kitchen. The floor is slate and COLD during the winter. What I like about the Flor tiles is that if I spill anything on them, it's super easy to clean. I hate ironing and as a result often leave the house in wrinkled clothes. Not good... With this, I'm more likely to steam my clothes. Plus! I'm in the middle of making HUGE curtains for my apartment and there's no way I can fit all the material onto an ironing board. So please pick me!! I was a block away when the second plane hit. I remember not really being able to comprehend what was going on. There was a lot of confusion and panic. I went back to work when they opened the streets the following monday. The dust, the smoke, the smell I'll never forget, the tanks, machine guns, the people numbly trying to go back to work. I iron all the time with my old dripping iron. Not only clothes but a good iron is absolutely necessary when you're sewing and trying to make your own clothes.
