@LizaJane: Yes! Very Carl Larsson indeed!
Growing up with an Arts and Crafts inspired room myself, this sent me right back to my happy childhood. Beautiful room, charming and simple as a children room should be.

I have the Ikea one and it's not a very good solution (great for recycling, though).
I like it design wise and the fact that it doesn't take a lot of space, but as for function - it's bad for storing shoes, it's just the wrong depth! The depth is suitble for high top sneakers and super high heels only. It just doesn't hold any other kind of shoe in place, and you will find the shoes at the bottom of the foldout drawer, one on top of each other, no matter how well you organized them before you closed the drawer.
It happened with any foldout shoe organizer I tried. There's just no attractive and compact shoe storage solution that would work in my tiny studio. In the meanwhile I keep my shoes underneath my bed or in neat rows by the door, but it's not very convenient...

I like these chairs a lot - I find them scandinavian in the best way possible - simple, clean and classic yet still fun and modern. But I can't get over the fact that they remind me so much of public libraries! mainly because both the highschool I went to growing up, and my current public library, have these chairs. Looking back, my highschool definitley deserved extra points for being so design conscious!

The MOST amazing home I've ever seen, by far! Already saw her kitcen tour and thought it was fantastic, but the rest of the house didn't fail to impress. I love how the jewel tones combined with the oriental antiques makes the space feel uber luxurious. Not to mention the Vermeer worthy lightning which is to die for! This woman has wonderful taste, and you can tell that she is well traveled and has an appreciation for all the great simple things life has to offer.

Honestly, I think this has got to be the nicest kitchen I've ever seen! The lightning in the pictures is also quite amazing... Just perfection!

It kinda misses the point for me. Books are meant to be read, not to be collected for decorating purposes.

Delicious indeed!
the white floors are great, it keeps the overall look fresh and clean, and not cluttered (as a lot of other "eclectic-chic" apartments tend to look). I really want to do it in my apartment, as I love the look of seamless white flooring, but don't ave enough money for white hardwood flooring.
A couple of questions: Is it easy to clean just as regular concrete? does the color chip when you wash it? Thanks!

@Battra92 - That's exactly what bothers me about a stainless kitchen. I'm not very into industrial chic, but in cerain rooms suca as bathrooms and kitchens, I really appreciate the look and feel of an industrial and sterile style. HOWEVER, stainless steel, as sterile as it might be always look dirty to me because of the fingerprints on it! Such a shame. Ultimatly when I redone my kitchen I chose sleek white with stainless accents fot that "professional" look. That said, I LOVE LOVE LOVE the first kitchen. I always feel like a good kitchen is a healthy mix of stainless, white, black and wood, and that kitchen has it all.

As superficial as it may sound, I have dismissed guys over the look of their apaertment. I once dated a guy whose apartment was super sterile and sleek looking in a way that made me feel really nervous. I like modern design sensabillities but seriously, that guy had only a designer white leather armchair and a laquer white plastic stool in his space. YUCK.
It also immedianyly triggered my "gay alert". I'm not judging, but I like my guys to be more carefree about the look of their apartment (as long as it clean of course).
My boyfriend now has crappy taste, but luckily for me he's aware of it so he let me do all the design choices (his only request was to keep a chinese style stool which I honestly don't care much about, for the better or worst)

Very clever! And you can add a stove by adding one of Ikea's doors for the Expedit and painting over it.

Ok, for all of you living in a hot climate: I'm from central Israel (born and raised), which gets super hot in the summer with very high humidity (I belive the tempreture is much higher than Tenesee...).
The bedding culture (Haha! Though it seems every country has one) is very much european - we use duvet+duvet cover and that's it. Each person choose their duvet according to his prefrence - personally I prefer a medium weight duvet in winter, so I never get too hot (a lot of couples use 2 duvet. My boyfriend has a heavier duvet).
In summer, however, it gets way too hot to use a duvet, so we either use a top sheet by itself, or like mose people do - use the duvet cover as a top sheet! Yes, you've heared right - and it's not that strange because if you'll think about it, a duvet cover is basically 2 top sheets combined. It's just enough for me, but if you'll like, you can add a thin blanket (though not necessary in most areas).

Oh, and the sheets are changed every 8 days (2 days for every side of the pillowcase), the duvet gets aired outside every 2 monthes or so and get washed once a year before going into storage.
