Honestly, I would go with a splash of color on the floor. You don't have to go crazy, but maybe something with brightly, muted colors.
For example check out rugs, that have colors like:
www.emmagardner.com

They are bright, but not crazy...a rug like this would compliment your space tremendously.

Hi Everyone, sorry for the late responses:
Dining Chairs:
Yes they are from Ikea. I have not had any problems with them, they are comfortable and have lasted me quite a while.

Flat dining room rug: These are FLOR, Fedora carpet tiles. Soft, easily cleanable and very resistant to pets.

Bedspread: Is indeed from Anthropologie.

Bacon: I LOVE HIM TOO, but sadly he is not mine. He belongs to Kayla and Wes. I had to have him in the shots though, I think animals always bring life to any space.

The throw is from Marshalls and the paint is Benjamin Moore, metallic glaze, celestial. The other paint is Glidden and matched to the metallic glaze color.

And Yes the coffee table was only $10, AMAZING huh? Sometimes people/stores don't know what they have, but if you do, then you can come out ahead. Example the solid walnut coffee table shown. =)
