If the slanted low ceiling was painted all the same as the walls the room volume would look huge... Try it! Attic rooms look fantastic when u don't emphasize all the breaks in roof lines and walls and unify the space in one enveloping colour. Otherwise, very pretty room...

SuperSexy. Thee BEST by far...some of these rooms look like "before" pics! This rm is SO well done. Sensual w/o feeling cluttered. Love masculine edge in a bdrm. Your room ROCKS. Great job.

Vic it's worth a couple of cheap cans of paint to not have to look at stained walls for another month let alone another yr! And if the landlords too cheap to pay for it then u are doing HIM a favour by painting any colour at all. Do it!! Rip out the gross carpet and paint the subfloor if its getting demolished anyway!

I don't get what the issue is with "being allowed" to paint or not If u can change the wall colour to something u can live with, you can certainly take it back to white before u leave!! Just do it!

Fantastic place. And u guys "go" so well w decor and each other. YES YES yes about hanging art!! Thank u Emily! Artwork at eye level or lower y'all !! In your space the art is beautifully hung. Haha. And it makes a huge difference, also love the nicely curated etagere in lvg.rm. can I suggest one thing? I also had an all white. Bdrm and as soon as I painted the ceiling a slightly colour-tinted whte. (Blue, your lvg. Rm colour would be perfect) it made the white stand out thatmuch more. A little depth and drama. Loves it! hMh

Fantastic! The dinky window was out o place anyway and people! The ONLY wood u shouldn't paint is high end, like,Mahogany!! The wood around that window was meant to be painted! As is all this revolting oak trim in SO many suburban homes. If u want some wood/nature in your house buy quality furniture or pick the best floors! Sorry not even about your post. Your after is super great. So fresh and airy. hMh

This post might be too late but...I solved plastic cover rips by 3M spray glueing canvas or denim fabric to all my covers and they have lasted years..the ring open/close mechanism fails before the covers come apart, which is never. Other cheaper spray glues such as Elmer's won't do the trick. hMh

Books? C'mon! Toronto is really not "International"! Getting frustrated w all the U.S. exclusions of Canadians w stuff like like this...we are right next door! And closer to NYC than most of ur states...it should be "NorthAmericans" -we are the sister to American culture .... So I guess there will never be a room contest to enter for us...where do I see SmallCool? homeMADEhome

For a tea-stained or just old looking stainless sink liquid DISHWASHER soap (harsh and chemical, yes) very occasionally, makes your sink look bright silver again!! wear rubber gloves, spread over entire surface and let sit for a while, if left overnight it will take a bit of elbow grease to scrub off, 2hrs works well-amazing results. Equally brightening and less toxic is a FULL SCOOP of OxyClean (for Laundry) dissolved in a full sink of hot water and left to sit overnight! WOW! looks new in the morning. Make sure you fill entire sink though, or the sink will be the old dingy colour above the water line! And you can throw in all tea towels and disgusting dish cloths to soak out stains at the same time, incl. any sponges, silverware... anything you want to brighten. homeMADEhome

How To Clean Your Kitchen Sink

The trick for hanging large artworks is GRAVITY BARS...I use them all the time. Two pieces of wood that have one edge mitred at a 45* angle that fit together...one pice is mounted on back of artwork and the other on the wall. The bonus is the only measurement that has to be exact is the distance from the floor you want your work. It doesn't have to be perfectly centred because once mounted, you can slide the piece from side to side to exact spot.!! Google "gravity bars for art hanging" possibly...My 100 lb, 8' mirror is hung this way as well as most lrg. works in galleries. Totally safe and stable. HomeMADEhome
