@Rural and Rueful and Parnassus, you should read The Elegance of the Hedgehog by Muriel Barbery. The narrator observes that many people DO think of pets as basically a home decoration. (That's not what the entire book is about, but your comments just made me think of this book).

This piano looks great!
I'm really sorry to make a critical comment, but I think this article used the word "site" when the word "sight" was needed.
sight = something that is seen
site = the spatial location of an actual or planned structure or set of structures (as a building, town, or monuments), or the place, scene, or point of an occurrence or event.
I know it's annoying when people decide to be the grammar police, but I have seen this error more than once recently!

One design thing that annoys me is when there are too many mirrors in a room that is not a bathroom! I know that mirrors can be a way to make a dark room seem lighter or a small room seem larger. But I don't like constantly catching a glimpse of myself as I walk around a room. I find it disconcerting!
