Tile seems daunting, but it's so much easier than you'd expect. I did fireplace surrounds in my living and dining rooms with antique tile I found at a salvage yard. I've never thought of using a dresser as a TV stand! Brilliant idea. We just finished some woodworking of our own to hide our TV components.
