Was it Turkish Washcloth, like this? The snapshot and flavor profile sound about right.

Grating a tomato? I'd try it, but I'm afraid I'd end up with a squished mess. Still... I suppose I won't know unless I try...

I'm with mcraig. It's also very sweet. Bummed! I considered using yolks only, but I think that would only knock down the lightness of it.

On throwing a tea party there, with hats...

Contact some local tea shops, or perhaps a tea shop and a small pastry shop. Work with new or smallish ones that need exposure, and use your space for a paired tasting. Limit admission, charge in advance ($25? $30?). Require hats. :)

Hmm... I've never seen company (especially unexpected) have problems if I am still tidying and the last clean-up task is dishes, and I'm wrapping up when they come in. Everybody understands dealing with dirty dishes.

If the bulb end still has roots on them, you can replant them, or put them in a glass with water. They'll continue to grow for quite a while. Trim the green ends as you want to use them; just make sure to not trim them all, or you'll end up with a shriveled and sad scallion.

I do agree that the whites have a nice, sharp flavor, so do use them regularly as well.

I live in the bay area as well.As I love great bread, but don't go through it with great frequency, here's what I do:

Buy a half loaf. Slice. Freeze it in the bag it comes in. My toaster has a defrost function, and it works great. It freezes the moisture that's already present in the bread.

I have frozen in plastic, as well as wax paper bags. Both turn out fine - the latter definitely would be a little more dry if it weren't becoming toast anyhow.

@lasell

Make sure it isn't hung up, or at least isn't plugged in. Use a blowdryer on the cord, on a low setting. The kinks should begin to relax. You might need to work them with your fingers a bit, bending them around in order to loosen them.

I haven't done this with a pendant lamp cable, but it works with most plastic straps. Should be the same, in theory. Be careful not to heat the cord in one spot for too long, it can get very hot!

What a crime!

That wood was chosen for its cut - the decorative ripples, long strips of wood split and carefully aligned for symmetry... a lot of pieces like this have mates, and work as a set.

This was a nice antique piece that has been ruined with gawdy paint - no better than painting over all wood molding in a beautiful Victorian home. On that note, try painting those wood floors while you're at it. The only excuse I can even conceive of would be covering for heavy dents and scratches or water damage.

:(

These guys are so ridiculously neat... and most of the time their social commentary is quite interesting. What nice visual collages - I'd love to see this in person.

Top it off with a thin layer of gooey orange glaze! You can even drop some carrot shavings and orange zest on top.
