Auto pin-striping tape is the absolute best.

I worked with my former company's visual artist to create these elaborate decorations on the windows of the store. You can get tons of colors, varying sizes, though you most likely have to order it online since most auto stores only stock a few widths/colors. After working with it a bit you develop a technique for kind of stretching it as you work to create perfect curved lines and it is almost meditative. I wish I still had pictures of the work we did with it.

These would totally pull out the subtle gray tones in my sofa and give me direction with the room to add some blue drapes and create the whole blue gray vibe we've been wanting. Love the woodgrain pattern and the variations of the blues.

These are awesome, but I'd totally diy this for a few bucks vs. paying $55.

Your place looks great. I really like the colors, especially the bathroom green with that amazing shower curtain.

Oh, and frgi, so jealous. I found some at TJ Maxx this past summer, but they were all childrens ones in odd shapes and colors, too bold for my tastes. I can't believe you got such a good deal on these.

Last year we reduced what we bought for everyone and this year we are not buying. Basically, we're completely over the commercialism of xmas and would rather celebrate it as time spent with family and giving to those in need.

I've expressed this to my parents and they completely understand. My in-laws, however, freaked out when a member of their family sent out an email about how they didn't want gifts for them or their child because they were teaching her what they believe the true meaning of xmas to be. This was a mean and cheap thing to do according to the in-laws, so I'm still waiting for my husband to tell them we've adopted the same ideal this year and it will be our tradition to refrain from gift giving and donate time and what little money we have to help others during the holidays. We're already too unconventional for their tastes, so this is just something to add to the list. Oh well.

Glad to see there are others who are adopting a new way of celebrating this year, makes me feel like less of a grinch!
