As a student myself I love the Rolltop lunch bag from built. It fits just lunch or a hold day as you can choose the size. The handle is also a clip so you can attach it to your bag if you need more room for books and other essentials. http://www.builtny.com/rolltop-value-pack-prod.html Durable, Easy to Carry Lunch Bag for a Busy Student? Unless you are personally attached to something I'd recommend starting fresh. I recently downsized from a 2 bedroom to a 480 sq ft studio, moved in a boy friend and we have 2 large shepherds and a cat. Define spaces and look for added uses. We are lucky to have high ceilings so before everything got moved we framed most walls and hallways with shelving and gloss white doors. They hold our clothing, doors move and pop up for desk space with files underneath. We put two consoles back to back with curtains between to separate the bedroom from dining area. We don't use our cabinets for kitchen items often, we have very few dishes and cookware so thats placed in one console and we use the cabinets for storage. We made a kitchen island that covered the two kennels. How Do We Make the Move? 3-Bedroom to a Small Studio Good Questions |

I love my dutch oven, roasting pans, kitchen aid mixer and knives, but don't get used as often as other tools. the one thing that I would splurge on would be a wide range of spices and an organization set for them. If you have the spices recipes are more accessible and spice racks are great but I find drawer organization in grids with all the same glass jars is even better. It doesn't seem like it would amount to a lot of money but it does add up if you use them a lot. What One Kitchen Product Do You Recommend Splurging On? Reader Intelligence Request |

I live in a cold climate, my style doesn't change much but to get through the weather I'm normally dresses in: yoga tights, tank top and sweater, tall fuzzy socks. When I need to take the dog out for walks or bathroom breaks I throw on my wool cape coat and sorel boots. I stay warm, its fast and everything is normally covered from the boots and coat except my knees. During the summer I do the same but have rain boots and a nice long trench coat that breaks mid thigh. Anything Goes? Dog-Walking Wear |

Ive had my share of roommates, some amazing and others you can't wait to not live with again. Its always seems to come down to boundaries, what each person is comfortable with whether it be guest, casual, overnight or visitors and what they want to share. Its easy to assume bedrooms are private but I've had roommates just enter at will to talk, grab clothing or even borrow the bathroom that is only connected to my room. Once a comfort level is set it flows. They have these charts made for college students during move in to help set a balance in a new space with new people, they work well and get people talking but doesn't come off as over the top. My first employers, they have a great bed and breakfast, cooked using CSA produce and had such an ease in the kitchen while cooking. They could just look at the sparse fridge and make an amazing meal, always had little tricks that I still use. Those two taught me all the basics and more on cooking for two to one hundred people. I get up early to run to yoga class with my dog, she loves to watch and we both get in a few miles.. Stop off at the corner coffee shop for tea and the newspaper on the patio. Then home to shower and put makeup on while eating wheat toast with avocado, watering plants, and tug of war with fidoMake a bagged lunch and review any information for the day. Grab my bags and haul my bike down the stairs then I'm good to go. What's Your Morning Ritual? |

I dislike the nesting sets of storage containers. Always having to remove the lid and the smaller ones to get the one you want. Most of the largers sizes are too large and even if you buy multiple sets the same size can never stack inside eachother nicely. Its just a pain to restack everytime. I've collected wooden chairs from garage sales and painted them all the same color with matching cushions. I also have ottomans that I use. To store the extra chairs I've used a simple bike rack hook and hang them on the wall to hold a lamp, plant, picture or even books in my kitchen entry Holiday Entertaining: The Extra Seating Dilemma |

I made something that could help, you can get poles at ikea that you can run floor to ceiling that use tension. I placed larger picture frames connected with a some wire and screw to the pole. If you stack the photos on top of each other and connect them, you can rotate them like a door, swinging open and shut. Temporary Privacy Door Ideas for Arched Doorway? Good Questions |

I have a similar layout and the curtain behind the bed works great, but I live in a cold climate so I opted for an insulated curtain that helps with drafts. I have it in a matte satin that helps contrast but not remove from the other fabrics and patterns in the room. It blends but doesnt stand out too much. Window Coverings for Spot Behind Bed?
