I agree, Lisa, it would take a gross sum of buttons to do a whole wall - but wouldn't it be a great treatment to a back splash in a small bathroom? I like everything to be bright, white and shiny in my bathrooms and I think this would look stunning, say in the small wall space between sink and mirror.

I tend to agree with taymountlady... the finish is just very heavy, and I think the redo is even more out of date than the original. but a good idea!

I think the tin foil has to do with the light repellent. I know that in some vineyards in Napa that are organic also use similar reflectors. I don't think they are made of foil but they are reflective of light and you see constant little glimmers of light across the vines... reminds me of little fireflies! but I guess it keeps the pests away.

on another note - I've also heard of using human hair as a way to keep the pests away. Maybe its the scent? Like if you get too close to a fallen baby bird the mother won't return to it.

Yes! my bedroom does suffer from the mess/clutter of too many clothes and not enough storage. I think part of the reason for bedrooms being more messy is that bedroom mess is not dirty mess. I mean, leaving stuff piled up in a kitchen or bathroom can lead to nastiness which is just not acceptable.
As I get older I am getting neater even in the bedroom. As for an unmade bed I think some of my non-bedmaking tendencies stemmed from having a mother with OCD. She used to make the bed with me still in it at times which while laughable now I hated it then. I think subconsciously I have been rebelling all these years by leaving my bed messy. Although, a made bed really makes a bedroom look really put together and I have been making it a new habit.

My favorite thing to do when on a big trip, especially abroad where I know I'm going to do some shopping damage, is to pack a medium/small suitcase with the stuff I need. That suitcase then gets slipped into either a large/medium suitcase (respectively) so that when you come back there is magically an entire extra suitcase to bring goodies in!

But if I'm doing a weekend trip within the states I like to pack fairly light. Being in a long distance relationship helps you learn to pack well. When you haven't seen the one you love in a while you want to look as cute/chic as possible without taking too much. I think packing good accessories is key. That little extra something that can spice up your outfits can eliminate the need to pack that extra dress or sweater.
