definitely not obsolete, and won't become obsolete either.
there is no replacement for the look, feel and smell of a book. while I have an e-reader, I still prefer reading physical books in almost all circumstances. my e-reader is ok for traveling, but charging it annoys me and unfortunately, if it gets too hot in the sun on the beach, it doesn't work well. books look marvelous in homes (georgemocha is right), and I intend to have a well-stocked library and a well-read family someday.

PS. The Sunday brunch from Ramsi's is really to die for. I don't know what it is, but it should be a must-do for any resident or visitor.

Yay! I love Louisville! I moved here for school (go Cards!) and now work downtown; I've really fallen in love with this city. Old Louisville is such a charming neighborhood, and I love discovering new spots, restaurants, or parks around the city. Thanks for highlighting a great city!

I'd go to Finland. Or the Maldives. Opposites yes, but both enchanting!

Sanitizing dishes with bleach is probably why there is now flesh eating bacteria.

Snarkiness aside, I wonder if the energy (water, electricity, fossil fuels) used to produce, transport and then run a dishwasher is more than the energy used in hand washing, I would imagine so. And, yes, it is important that our bodies be exposed to bacteria (cue snarkiness, not the flesh eating stuff) so that our immune systems learn to adapt.

Are the people afraid of the bacteria on their dishes also afraid of the bacteria on door handles, computers/phones, toothbrushes (fecal matter! see MythBusters), and even just hands? Because that stuff is all a lot more bacteria-ridden than dishes are.
