They certainly don't help the situation by making dorm furniture permanent fixtures however there are a few things you can try and it will really depend on the dimensions. 1) the water cooler needs to move to the corner across from the bathroom 2) I'd move the bed along the bathroom wall so it is facing the the wardrobe so long as you can still access the bathroom and wardrobe 3) move the tv and associated furniture under the windows 4) but 2 smaller chairs and put one next to the wardrobe and use one as a nightstand next to your bed. You can now have people in your room without sitting on your bed all the time 5) buy a bookcase for vertical storage and put it between the nightstand chair and the window wall 6) accessorize with plants, and put colorful objects and storage containers in the bookcase. Put color anywhere you can such as your bedding, the chairs, etc so you don't have to worry about painting or hanging up any sort of "artwork". Ideas for Decorating Dorm Room on a Budget?
