This is lovely. Really nice to see a stylish apartment done on a very minimal budget rather than the 'faux-budget' of people who can still afford to hire professional interior designers.

Just wondering if a screen or curtain, even a half-size, across the bottom of the bed might divide it up that little bit further and 'soften' the bedroom a bit. But maybe that'd just me.

Great apartment, great style, really refreshing.

I second Jaclyn P's comment.

We live in an area with a v. bad reputation and, whilst there's regular drug deals and we live on a noisy main road, we also experience a level of friendliness and community spirit that everyone comments on when they come to visit. Our neighbours are caring, fun and constantly bring food round. Everyone in the street greets each other and it's a real joy to me to hear groups of people laughing and joking and talking in a whole variety of different languages I'd never even heard of. Plus, despite our insurance being sky-high we actually are at least risk of burglary - simply because no-one owns anything worth stealing!

It's not perfect and I was scared when I first moved. Every little noise terrified me and I hated walking the streets. Now I absolutely I love it. I wouldn't swap it for a more genteel, sophisticated neighbourhood for anything. We could definitely afford something smaller in a much more desirable location but I would get SO bored!

Thanks, Nancy - that makes a bit more sense. Had just noticed it on a few other tours where the 'embarrassing' rooms weren't photographed so wondered if there was a reason for it. Personally, I love the sound of a mustard yellow!

This is a lovely apartment but I'm slightly disappointed that there seems to be a bit of an AT pattern of not showing the parts of the apartment that aren't perfect (like a mustard yellow bathroom). Part of the reason lots of us come on here is that we want to see how people actually live and style their homes (not just how they want us to think they do) and also to get inspiration about how to work with the things we've got that we wouldn't have chosen. What better way to do that than see aspects that aren't 'perfect' in home tours. Just a thought...
