I just did something similar but did literary quotes on the ceiling. This was much easier as I wrote them in Sharpie on removable wallpaper, and stuck them to the ceiling. Even though it was in larger strips it was still a hell of a lot of work and I now have a great appreciation for what Michaelangelo's shoulder and neck must have felt like.
