Glad to hear you know about the stewed oxtail! We don't do ours with lima beans, but I'm sure everything else is about the same.

As for roti, my grandmother can make any kind of roti your heart desires, but I am yet to completely master the technique. I think I have to grow into the patience for dough. But the curry that goes inside the roti, that I can make real nice.

Actually, one of the best Thanksgiving meals I've ever had wa at a vegan potluck. Now, most of the guests were staff at a vegan restaurant... so that may have had a lot to do with the quality of the food!

Why don't you start an account with one of the online bookmarking tools? I use delicious.com to save all my recipes, from all sorts of different foodblogs and websites. It's so much more convenient than having a separate "recipe box" on each different site.

We only have this type of milk in Trinidad, and I actually far prefer the taste to what I buy in America. And, I promise I don't feel that way about absolutely all food products from home.

I drink so much tea its unreal. Even during the summer, but I know it's going to increase this fall. Frankly, I'm tired of washing teapots (hard to get inside the little hole in the top) and buying teabags, and this gadget would be so wonderful.

I would think that a condition that caused a person to be unable to eat vegetables would be pretty debilitating to their health... is there a correlation between conditions like diabetes and "supertasting"?

Have you had Hong Kong milk tea or Thai iced tea (served with condensed milk)? Not all tea in Asian countries is served with milk, and not all Asian countries serve tea with milk, but many do. And, none of my Asian friends have ever commented on the milk in my tea as "weird". Anyway, maybe I should have phrased it as, 'All the people I've ever met with a strong aversion to milk in tea have been American.'

I think Americans are the only people I've ever met with an aversion to milk in tea. It sort of makes sense as most people here seem to think of tea as "herbal tea" (although that's actually not tea.... but, I digress.
I'm with everybody else who said, steep in teapot, pour milk in cup, and then pour tea into cup.
