Yes!!! I'm so glad you posted this. :-) My husband and I are expecting a little one in August and we're pretty set on a nautical theme -- boy or girl. I've been compiling ideas on my Pinterest, but it's so great to see this as well. Love the not-too-cutesy blend of different textures and colors to create a great theme. Thanks!

I love this laundry soap!! It's even better when you can find it on sale -- Whole Foods puts it half off occasionally!!!!!!

My husband and I have sent many, many kitschy one of a kind cards to one another over the years of being friends, dating, etc and we recently did this with those cards in our kitchen. :-)

They did the Honeysuckle in Spring 2007 too... It was GREAT. I loved the smell so much. It was only available in a small Spring Cleaning 4 pack, but now I'm excited about the full sizes!!!!! YAY!!

I completely agree with linav8 -- I'm interested in the product, but usually when a price range isn't disclosed, it means I can't afford it.

Check out Night Owl Paper Goods -- it's a line out of Birmingham, Alabama and I love it!!! They make sustainably harvested wooden postcards, journals, etc... I wanted to do my wedding invites through them, but we wound up eloping. :-)

It looks AMAZING!! I hate the look of the fake wood cabinets -- something I'm experiencing now, actually -- and would totally take them off if not for the fact that our dishes are boring and black, not beautiful and fun like yours.

This creates such a homey, open look and it really does make organization a priority. I think you have done a fabulous job and I plan to use your kitchen as a bit of persuasian for my husband and also to steal all your ideas, of course. Also, I really like taking all of the top cabinets off, not necessarily leaving only some on, because it creates consistency and fluidity...with some of the cabinets on, I think it would break it up.

Thanks for this post!!!! :-)

@Lifeabundant: I found my rectangular glass jars for flour/sugar/coffee/etc at IKEA. :-)

As far as the retail, I think to each their own!!

I spend ridiculous amounts of money on dog AND cat food, plus flower essences, special shampoos, and toys for my animals...why WOULDN'T I spend more money on something (ie, a litter box) that could actually be a convenience to me!?

Now, getting my husband to see my perspective may prove more difficult...but wish me luck. :-)

And rudebega, thanks for letting us know how big your kitty is. Mine is about the same size and that was my only real reservation.

Have a fabulous day folks :-)

I could do it! And love it! I have lived in a 400 sq ft studio, 800 sq ft one bedroom, and 2500 sq ft three bedroom with my husband, large dog, and fat cat...and I have to say the 400 sq ft was my favorite. Everything else felt like such a waste. And we are complete homebodies!!

As far as the negative comments...I understand it wouldn't be ideal for everyone, but no need to trash the idea of small space living or the people that live this way. You are more than welcome to keep your space, no one is saying otherwise!!

haha! My boyfriend and I just moved in with his best friend (so we could get a bigger place) and one of the things I actually brought up was the possibility of a "man room." They prefer "man cave" but whatever. Anyway... futon (I tried talking them into taking one of our couches up there, but nope), recliner, huge TV, xbox, tons of DVDs, deck for smoking their cigars, and there is talk of a mini fridge. They do their thing and I can go downstairs and veg. It works out!

We keep our thermostat set at around 58 degrees... 60 if it's 7 degrees outside (like last week). We have a kitty and a puppy, both do well. We all pile up in bed at night to keep warm, but during the day, the kitty sleeps on the cable box (it's warm!) or snuggles in some blankets. The dog has a chair she hangs out in, unless we're at work, in which case she's crated, sleeps on two blankets, and her crate is also half covered in a blanket. We humans just keep a blanket, slippers, and maybe a hat with us at all times. I'd rather be snuggly than financially wiped because energy costs are outrageous! We also keep our blinds open if the sun is out and shut them at night (even that helps with our old, leaky windows). We have "draft dodger" that definitely helps keep drafts from under the door. If you have hardwoods like us, rugs are great because no matter how beautiful hardwood flooring is, it's COLD during the winter. Oh, and space heaters are getting better and better!
