I used to work for WGBH and handled all the royalties and revenues for TOH on video and cable tv sales for many years. As people, except for Vila, "the boys" are all very nice guys. But once the show really went big time and they all lawyered up, it got to be quite the nightmare reporting-wise. I saw many, many episodes and they still are the jewel of the genre - but I still can't watch the show without a little bit of a shudder! Rachel - not sure of your budget, but a decent upholsterer could make you this headboard custom - then you could pick out the exact fabric you want. Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | Good Questions: Identify This Headboard? Los Angeles |

This is a pretty common concept - for high end complexes to offer design services as part of the purchase price - although generally it's for help selecting finishes like flooring, tile, wall colors, cabinetry, things like that. That it includes furnishings is more unusual. I don't think it's a lure to spend, spend, spend however. I don't think it would be a reason why someone would purchase a condo they weren't already thinking of buying. It just puts a local celebrity stamp on that specific condo project and hopefully drives interest and sweetens the deal. Thanks for linking to my Pride and Prejudice post on Silver Screen Surroundings! I loved the sets of the movie version as well - although I did think that the movie Longborn was way too shabby - pigs were practically running through the house. As long as the father was alive, the family was comfortably set. Your photos are great - especially the Netherfield guest bedroom - drool!!! Thanks for including my posts on the White House decorating over the last 150 years. One of the things I liked the most about doing the research was that when all is said and done, the beauty of the building is what is important, regardless of the politics of the inhabitants. And, that all the first ladies were smart enough to hire good decorators! Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | Ballot Check: Which Yellow Oval Room Do You Prefer? |

The website is a mess, I agree. Too much on the front and no real focus. The catalogue did catch my eye though. I thought they were going after a kind of Anthropologie look as far as colors and patterns are concerned. And it is nice to see something different after so long! This is a beautiful sofa and the beauty lies in the shape and woodwork. So, while a bold, large pattern might seem fun, it will totally obscure what is beautiful about the sofa. You can still use something with a modern feel - such as a linen or even leather or ostrich. But I would suggest a solid or tone-on-tone fabric in order to maintain the overall look of the piece. As someone said above - don't skimp on the fabric quality as it till surely not hold up. If the piece is going to get regular use, then you should expect maybe 10 years before needing to recover. Shorter if you use a mediocre upholsterer or thin fabric. Longer if you use a heavy fabric that doesn't show a lot of wear or fading - such as a cut velvet. Don't expect to pass the fabric down to heirs, but the sofa you should have forever. Apartment Therapy New York | NY Good Questions: What Type of Fabric For This Sofa? |

I'm totally in agreement - clean towels - face, hand and bath are a must for guests. Also agree, they should be handed or laid out for the guest. Whether the accommodations are a couch or a full fledged guest room, the courtesy of clean and available personal items (towels, soap, tp) are a must. Anything less is discourteous. And, on the flip side, the guest should always completely strip and fold the bedding, along with all the towels. Don't make the hosts try to figure out which towels were used. Clean up after using the bathroom (no standing water around the sink - that drives me crazy!) or toothpaste or shave cream splatters in the sink. Actually, it occurs to me that those who say they don't use hand towels and shake off the water from their hands are probably the cause of the water that always seems to be splashed around the sink area. Now THAT's gross! Apartment Therapy Chicago | Overnight Guest Complaints |

I agree with chicagores07, the chandelier needs to be considerably lower - 30" above the table. I'm also not sure that I love the shades iether. Perhaps you should paint the ceiling a light blue or pink. Something that brings a little life into the space. (leave the woodwork as is). Look!: Tiffany's Dining Room Before/After |
