love mixed chairs!! I also like mixed cutlery and glassware.. especially when you have a few vintage or antiques thrown in. Great clashes for contrast and interest - my eye loves it!

I think a muted or soft whites are great! I just did an article on exactly the same thing - whites will add texture and probably make your room look bigger - great way to create a point of interest in the room. Go for it! Nothing too glossy - muted and soft!

I love these!!! They are so inspiring - I love the idea of a painted floor rug.. I've done a whole painted and stenciled floor before for a retail store and it takes hours...okay, days.. but love it anyway.
