Yay for raised bed gardening! Nothing makes a home feel more like home than growing your own veggies. Even more than painting, I swear.

Patio Furniture!! Useful and I even like it - several huge and some small round terracotta pots that I used to plant my container garden, a little blue Weber grill, and a picnic table way in the back of the yard where it actually feels like you're in a forest.
I LOVE this post by the way ....

You nailed mine! Natural, light - Windows! Windows! Windows! Makes me so happy ....I was just thinking the other day that when I actually buy a house I would request to spend an entire day there before entering escrow just to see how the sun moved through the space.

I adore this post - going to go read this novel immediately!
And yes, the reason I read Apartment Therapy and Dwell magazine and any number of home blogs is because how I feel about my living space at any given moment is COMPLETELY wrapped up with how the rest of my life is going and vice versa.

I can't believe no one else has said this yet, but it's so NICE to have floorplans!!! I wish all the house tours, and ESPECIALLY the before and afters on this site had a requisite floorplan. Its so key to my understanding of what the f- is going on in the space. Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!!

I too adore this house. It's cohesive and luxurious and interesting without feeling self-conscious, kitschy or over designed. I also just checked out the website for MYNE and the clothes are gorgeous as well! Prints, prints, prints - as promised :)
I live in LA and the Hollywood Knolls is a great neighborhood for having friends stop by as its close to EVERYTHING.

I've lived in LA for almost 10 years and almost never had a TV in that time - certainly not one that was the center of a room. And now, I live in a rad 1920s apartment with a pretty small galley- like living room and I have a HUGE flat screen TV that my best friend gave me for my birthday. And the TV is super fancy/new and yes, I like to watch my recorded Laker's games and Game of Thrones episodes on it but it is really weird to me and I don't like it. Because of the shape of the living room, its definitely the focal point of the place which is not awesome to me. So I'm living inside of my own design allergy.
Achoo!
Aside from that, wall to wall carpeting in the bathroom (as I think one other person mentioned) makes me REALLY uncomfortable. Like, I'll walk in and just walk out without peeing no matter how bad I have to go.

I agree with many posters that the living room seems to be ...missing something at first glance, or awkwardly arranged. Especially in the picture facing the window, couch and leather chair. But from other perspectives it actually comes together a little more than I initially perceived.
I would describe the vibe as whimsical, spartan. And I like it.
As for all the book commentary - What is the deal?! I'm sure that at least some of you snobs have far "worse" hanging around your nightstands and bookshelves - a Twilight book, or Fifty Shades of Grey or The Help, or the latest Oprah book club offering. Let the perfect post-post modern intellectual cast the first stone ...
And since the book is in their bedroom, it hardly seems like its meant to make other people think they're "cool" in that context.
