You did the right thing creating your own tone for the decorations and outfits.
If you tried shopping for Superman party supplies, you probably noticed they're not available in stores. Hallmark owns the license for this party supply pattern and they discontinued a couple years ago :(

Luckily, Hallmark rejuvenates their party supply themes in conjunction with movies coming out. If you know there's a new Superman movie coming out next summer called Man of Steel and I'll bet your Superman husband's bank you can expect a new Superman party supplies a few months before the movie comes out.

So if your son is still a big fan of the Man of Steel next year for his 4th birthday, it'll be easy to get some of the things you got from etsy or made yourself.
