Rust Belt solidarity, yo. Detroit, Toledo, much love from the CLE. These lists just serve to reaffirm the fears of wealthy suburbanites. I grew up in the safe, homogenous outer ring suburbs of a different city and I can't imagine moving back. The weather here may be terrible, but this city has vibrancy and potential. (Yeah, I just called Cleveland vibrant!) I've lived on the East Side near museums and the West Side next to unbelievable restaurants. (I case you didn't know, the Cleveland food scene is beyond rad.) It's not like we don't have problems, but I shop locally, I eat locally, I live where I want. Forbes can take their stuck up list and stuff it.

@Dobry (1) There is a thing called "hyperbole". Not everything is literal. Also, rhetorical devices. (2) If an Native person says "that's demeaning and offensive"/"it's a culture, not a trend" how is that ridiculous?

As for the poster, I agree, I doubt the artist was doing anything intentionally harmful. However, I think the appropriation and unfortunate pun negate the cute-factor. Sure it's cute, but at whose expense? "Its just a poster!" isn't much of an argument. There are a myriad of historical posters, advertisements, and children's books that were trivial at the time of production, but now we see them as racist and sexist disasters. The smallness of the gesture or item does not proof it against criticism. This is a little too problematic for my taste, thanks.

I can't believe how nasty a few people are being... Its okay not to like it (and say so), but lets not forget these are her lamps and she can paint them whatever color she wants. I mean, are you going to buy her new lamps? (You can buy me new lamps then too lol.) Of course, if she broke into your house and painted your lamps, you would be allowed to act like a jerk.

I want to see pictures of your perfect homes posted so I can dissect them and remind you that you (1) have no taste and (2) have completely ruined everything ever. Come on, guys. Be decent.
