I'd love to see more room pics too. But it's so beautiful. It's a fantasy land.

hmm...none of the rooms has an open feel the place is supposed to offer. The solid walnut pieces overwhelms everything else, including the view.

I guess what bugs me the most is the mismatched wood colors. It's just me though.

It's a beautiful building located in a vibrant area. I personally really like the building and wished that I could afford it.
I appreciate how the owners started developing the entire interior based on the furniture they inherited. Having said that, I feel that the entire home is a little random, perhaps lack of a theme. Perhaps it was due to the order of the pictures? I can't feel the order of the rooms and I feel disoriented. All the rooms look the's not coherent to me.

It's such an impressive renovation. I"m particularly impressed by the art pieces. I was wondering if the owners can share how they collected those pieces and how much the Anuszkiewicz pieces run nowadays?I have quite a few empty spaces at home but I'm very intimidated by the art scene......

We visited yesterday. It was a very touching installation and it is the contemporary art piece that connected with me the most.

Thank you AT for covering this.

Knowing that you have this limited space to work with, I think that you can consider:
1.defining this one little square of wall space that you can use.
2.placing pieces of equipments strategically so that they are visually pleasing.
3.deciding to use either a custom cabinet to place them or a media stand.

The point is that you should probably add a little space b/w those pieces to make them breathable (is it a word?). It's hard to expand horizontally but I think that you can utilize the spare area on the higher portion of the wall.

Hi Brad and Kendra, I have left a message in your small cool entry, but I am not sure if you saw it.
Anyway, this is Jing, your old neighbor in apartment 6 (3rd floor). We've been living in NYC since we moved, but we are still loyal Red Sox fans. =)

I recall that you guys had dark grey walls in your small cool entry, so you painted them lighter now?

Job well done. How are the cats doing?

I think that it's to do with the style of the sofa. The ones shown in the pictures say it all. The second one will be better off with a leather surface, while the first one will perhaps look nicer with a canvas kind of finish.

Hi Susunny, it's part of the kitchen furniture and all of them have the same surface - I believe that it's just glossy paint finish. It's not glossy white, but rather with a little yellow tone - a light and warm cream color.

Timmy, Thank you. Here comes the vacuum report - I'm using an old vacuum cleaner that does not have the power head function. I tried the flat head and that is extremely easy, but I was afraid that dirt would hide under the flowers, so I used the tube only to vacuum as well. Flowers were sucked up(almost like combing the flowers), but not damaged at all because, once again, my vacuum cleaner does not have the powered head with wheels that suck and catch everything in.

James, thank you for the story. That' why I don't use a house keeper - much of the material in the apartment are different from the "home depot standard", so we actually use many kinds of cleaners on different surfaces anyway. I don't believe or expect an average house keeper can figure all these out. So I'd rather spend two hours a week to do my own chores. Dear husband is willing to share the chores too (if not more).

I then flipped the rug (to bottom up position) by doing it half and half. I vacuumed the bottom of the rug as well. That's super fast and easy. I finally vacuumed the floor under the rug pad. that's it.

The wool felt does not shed at all.

The only issue I've found so far is that it catches white cotton lint. Needless to say my husband wears white sporty cotton socks at home, so the lint was everywhere. Now that white cotton socks are banned in the living room (!!), I think that my rug will be very happy.

To Julie - they reminds me of the caterpillars in Alice in the Wonderland too. How cute:)
