I've moved back home to the Twin Cities in MN, and boy is it hard! I grew out of touch with high school friends, and college friends are spread all over. I'm also planning my wedding for the fall and I am at a serious loss for my "maid of honor"- much less who to invite!! My best friend from study abroad 10 years ago? Childhood buds? New friends from my last home that I won't likely see again? I felt deficient, but I'm glad to know that many others are going through the same friend-blight after moving!

Here's to plugging on and putting ourselves out there! (again and again and again!!)

I did this as a kid all the time!! I didn't use tape, I think I tucked the sheet ends under chairs. I can't remember how I fastened the sheet around the box fan, but it was a weekly occurrence! I'm glad you are passing this on!

I got it on craigslist second hand, so I don't know if you can still get it. Good luck with whatever you get!

I used dry erase board markers in a fun color for a few years on white ceramic containers. Just erase, or wipe with a dampened cloth if the writing has dried up! Also, a small post-it sized or smaller paper attached by a rubber band works! Sometimes I cut out the label and attach it like this.

I'd already chosen this as a main wedding color for Oct 2013, so I'm excited that there will be a lot of decor to chose from this year! I am disappointed though that I'll be super trendy! I like to think I'm ahead of the curve with trends based on other similar "but I chose that first!" situations, but I'm too slow putting plans into action to prove it more often than not. ;-P

Peppermint oil is a neurotoxin for ants- I only used it to kill the existing ants, and then TERRO traps for a long(er) term solution. I liked the peppermint oil because it would paralyze the ants instantly (and I bought it from ACE in an easy to apply spray can- can't remember the brand- the can was yellow though), and I could spray to my hearts content in the kitchen without worry. The spray didn't deter them later (that's what the TERRO traps were for), and I now resent anything that smells like peppermint, but it was super effective for killing them INSTANTLY! (I also had the evil laugh.)
