This seems like a great idea for a few wire-work items I have that seem to be rusting but I still find hard to part with.

Looks more like a moonflower vine. Big white blooms followed by pods with seeds.

@ABANANA: It's possible they meant more like Koreans and Japanese by East Asian than Thai/Vietnamese. Even the Chinese use a lot of cilantro in their cooking, the reason it is also known as Chinese parsley. Among all the people I know, it is the Koreans who don't like cilantro, at all. They also hate celery and say that the two taste similar to them. I, on the other hand, am a celery hater but can't live without cilantro. Wonder why.

@JMORRI26: I think you are mixing genetic with hereditary. A genetic condition need not necessarily be hereditary.

Forgot to mention, for the 'khichdi', make sure to use slightly more mung beans than rice. cook with lots of water (about 3x or more of the bean+rice volume), with turmeric powder, salt and maybe some ginger chunks (not to be eaten and to be removed later on). Cook like one cooks rice, except 15-20 minutes longer.

Mung bean soup (cooked with salt and some turmeric powder), with a dash of lemon/lime juice, just to make it more refreshing but not enough to make it too acidic. Also, mung bean and rice 'khichdi' (somewhat like risotto, but more mashed and thinner). Both are considered great for convalescing people, especially when digestion is an issue as these are easily absorbed by the body and give more nutrition than plain starchy foods.

Very common in northern Indian 'dhabas' (roadside eating places, but with delicious food as the ingredients come straight from the nearby fields). Except, they use whole tiny red onions. Yumm!

I use mascarpone cheese instead of regular cream cheese for the frosting, with hints of cinnamon/nutmeg for warmth. Like the taste better. Of course, no need to add butter.

Creamy mushroom soup with lots of umami and no need for any stock/broth! Rehydrate the shiitake in minimal hot water (~15-20 minutes) and chop into slices (reserve the water). Chop onions and garlic and fry in butter with some black pepper, bay leaves, freshly grated nutmeg and some dried rosemary leaves. Add the mushrooms and some flour and cook a little. Add whole milk, and the reserved water and simmer till the soup thickens. Add salt and it's ready. Takes less than 30 minutes, including the soaking time.

@OPENDESTINY: Oops, I didn't know couscous was considered to be a pasta. Always thought it to be a kind of semolina product. But I guess that's what a lot of pastas are too. Thanks for the info.

But nevertheless, using just coarse ground semolina to make a polenta or a pilaf as a side works great.

I agree with GLINDA GOODWITCH. We saved our ficus last year in a similar way. It was completely taken over by scale insect. We did not go as far as to denude it. We, however, sprayed it with Neem oil and left it outdoors on our shaded front stoop. Made sure to water it regularly and it thrived. Left it there until late August and gave it one more Neem treatment before bringing it in. Haven't seen any scales on it so far. Moreover, it seems to be doing better than before it was infested.

If looks are not an issue, try using the containers for whey protein (GNC etc). They can easily hold a 5 pound bag of flour/sugar, have screw tops, are opaque (helps with freshness), and are kind of flexible so won't easily break after a fall. Probably too expensive to buy the protein just for the containers but will help if you have friends who use whey protein.

This looks delicious! Have to try the orange flower water too. Do you think figs will work in place of/addition to the dates? I have lots of dried ones and look for an excuse to use them.

How come no one mentioned couscous? You can put all kinds of veggies and cooked proteins in it (I personally like roasted peanuts, tiny bits of stir-fried tofu or paneer). Makes a delicious pilaf. Also, coarse ground semolina can be used in a similar way (just make sure to dry roast it a little before cooking with the other ingredients and stock/water).

Love the final desk-chair combination. However, I don't think having your computer screen right in front of such a big window is a good idea, especially if you wish to spend long hours staring at that screen. Too much glare in the eyes, not to mention the distractions outside.

Removing excess leaves, especially if they are touching each other, helps prevent any incidence of fungal growth. Also, water the soil and not the leaves/fruit. Works in the mild summers of upstate NY.

Own one since 2009. Mine is a firm, king size mattress used on a platform bed but I still find it too soft. Wanted to return it initially as I like to sleep on a firmer surface, but somehow was too late in doing so. So glad I stuck with it. It was a blessing to sleep on it during my first pregnancy last year. I had severe morning sickness and lower back pain and this mattress was the only surface I could tolerate. Never had a backache since I owned this mattress. It does not really have a bounce back effect but you do feel it if someone moves if you are close enough. It does sink in quite a bit if you sit in it, but sleeping is great.

Wow, I recently did this with a music box purchased from the very same website. Used the colorful fish mobile from ikea as my son loves it and attached it to the music box. It hangs over the changing area now and my son wants it played every time he's being changed.
