Astur, I use an Overboard bag myself, essentially a roll top sack. It does mean that I need a little laptop sleeve so things don't dink it, however very flexable in that respect. Plus they are designed for people to wear while doing water sports. Properly waterproof versus weatherproof.

Great for our English weather.

I use my macbook with a second screen, so it looks better to have it open. However its not in the centre, so not the item of focus.

One of my desks is a kitchen work top.

If it does the job, it does the job.

We saw these tables in Ikea at the weekend, really nice quality. Almost too good for dining on.

I am in the process of adding some colour to my cream office space (rented house) basically I have picked a nice bright colour which I am going to use to accent the room. My personal choice has been for a nice bright Acid/Lime green. Then the trick is to paint anything you can, front of of draws and cupboards.

It is also a great excuse to buy every accessory you might see when out and about in that colour.

The term 'Hacking' used to be exactly what hackerspaces are about. A great example is that Steve Jobs, and Steve Wozniak were both involved with a club that did hacking, which for them resulted in making the very hacked together looking Apple 1.

Also, it is worth mentioning that there are loads of Hackspaces (slightly different spelling) over here in the UK, for your UK readers. Big ones include, London Hackspace, Build Brighton, Hacman (Manchester Hackspace), Leeds Hackspace, Bristol Hackspace, Northackton (Northampton Hackspace) and Nottinghack (Nottingham Hackspace)

Finally, to all the people who wish they had a hackerspace near them, these spaces didn't just appear, they are normally created by a small team of people, so do ask around, and see if anyone near you wants to help you set one up!

I have always been of the opinion that if I can sell it on again for about the same price, always take the risk. Most things you buy in a thrift/charity store will sell on auction sites for the same price or more.

I would hate to not get something, and regret it a few weeks later.

One of the first things we got was a couple of Ikea Poangs. Not only are they a comfortable chair to sit in, but a nice compact option compared to a sofa, or armchairs.

Also, if you are a bit crafty you can save money by getting the cheapest cushion, and making your own funky fabric cover.
