No they're not. I don't want dog hair everywhere, and they are really ok with it. One is too short to jump onto the furniture, and the other one knows he shouldn't be sneaks up there when he can. Neither of them go upstairs, and have been trained not to. They both shed a lot, and they spend a lot of time outside, so I don't want them where my family sits or sleeps. I think that's being hygenic, not precious. Pets On Furniture: Yay or Nay? |

We had the same issue when we remodeled our kitchen and family room. I have a shared wall between them, and we opted for BM Stonington Grey in the kitchen and Alaskan Skies in the family room (soft blue grey and very muted tan). We ended up breaking up the wall at a spot above the mantel, where our contractor built in our TV in a cabinet that's painted all white, so it seemed logical. I would also go with the muted colors, as some suggested above. Good luck- Paint Color for Open Kitchen? Good Questions |

I really wanted to get gray cabinets in my new kitchen but chickened out. I went with white and painted to walls BM Stonington Gray, and have black and marble counters. The floor is hardwood with a walnut finish. These kitchens are all gorgeous and soothing....I love them-definitely not bleak or dreary. Shades of Gray: Kitchens That Make a Statement |

We just had our kitchen redone and did our island in unpolished (honed) carrera marble. It wasn't a tough decision for us, and I'm glad that this contributor noted that honed doesn't etch as easily as polished does. Would I Be Crazy to Choose Marble Countertops for My Kitchen? Was supposed to go but the weather isn't cooperating. :-( It's worth the trip-such a lovely place and great finds. I will go over the summer. Happy Brimfield Everyone! Brimfield Antiques Show 2012 |
