I love this sooooo much! I disagree on there being a lack of personality....just because their style is more subdued and clean doesn't make it boring. There's still some really unique things in this home.

STACY- I see you got the rocking chair on Rue La La, but can you share the maker? I'd LOVE something like this for my baby-to-be's nursery. It's so much smaller and chicer (is that a word?) than all the rocker's/gliders out on the market. I love it!

That shark painting is also so cool- I need to check that out on Etsy.

Ehh, didn't find this one super helpful. I think most of us know WHAT to do, but HOW to do it in a small space is the hard part, and isn't really addressed here. Put your shoes outside? Ok, what if I live in a co-op and am not allowed to have things outside my door? A table for your keys, wallet, etc.? That's great, but what if a table won't fit in my tiny doorway. I'd love some ideas on out of the box ways to accomplish this stuff. Especially since he says you can do it in any size space.

Avocado Egg Salad!!! I replace most of the mayo w/ avocado and it's amazing!! The other thing I like to do with eggs (also involves an avocado) is smash/spread some avocado on a piece of toast and top with a fried egg. But I bet it would also be good with some slices of hard boiled egg on top.

A slightly different answer, but I live in NYC so this is a valuable one...we left our folder of take-out menus in a drawer for the next people. We were moving neighborhoods and didn't need them anymore. Even though Menupages has everything on there, we would only keep the physical menus of places we liked, so we were able to pass along menus of places that had our stamp of approval for the new tenants.

There is definitley room for a coffee table in front of the couch. However, instead, maybe do 2 ottoman's that can serve as storage, coffee tables or side tables (something on casters or wheels would be great). Also, not sure that tall open shelving unit is doing much for you. I'd take that away and put an end table there with shelving above it. I also agree about using roll down shades or panels, but just two light panels on either side of the couch as opposed to the three that are hanging in the middle.

Also, could you have the tv mounted on the wall to free up space?

@PUGLOVEATL: Yes, people are snarky and elitist on here lately ("Oh yawn, I'm soooo in the know that I can't possibly look at another chevron"). Perhaps because a lot of us on here spend a lot of time on home decor sites/stores/mags, we tend to see things repeated a lot. However, to a "regular" person, a lot of these ideas would be interesting to them, since they aren't jaded. I think the space is nice, and I'm a woman. Have I seen an acrylic chair before? Sure. I have I seen reclaimed wood before, sure. But I've also seen mountains, sunsets and fresh flowers before and can still appreciate them over and over again. I think the designer did a good job pulling everything together.

Unfortunately, the white paint is probably out of her control since a lot of Manhattan rentals won't allow you to paint the walls a color. Although, the bedroom color is looking a little lavender to me in some photos...not sure if that's just the lighting.

As for the beds in NYC being huge...is it possible that NYC apartments are just so small that the beds look really large in proportion to the rest of the space? So many people move here from all over the place that I bet a lot of people are just trying to fit a bed they already own into a smaller space than they had before.

I think she did a really nice job with a studio apartment. Those can be really tricky to divide and this was well done!
