@heidi L: "Thrift store chic"...I couldn't have said it better myself. But people will say this lacks character because it doesn't look like all those other tours. Stacy and Christophe's Classic San Francisco Hilltop Home House Tour |

Oh I read it wrong...the Shark art is not the print in the dining room. I see you got that from Z gallerie...is that correct? I love it so much. Stacy and Christophe's Classic San Francisco Hilltop Home House Tour |

I love this sooooo much! I disagree on there being a lack of personality....just because their style is more subdued and clean doesn't make it boring. There's still some really unique things in this home. Stacy and Christophe's Classic San Francisco Hilltop Home House Tour |

@Meghan O'C: I am soooo with you on this!! But I think it's because for years, there was so much "fake" brass...like the towel racks and door knobs from home depot type of look where it's shiny/coated plastic made to look like brass. I've realized that I love actual brass and in fact just bought this lighting fixture from Serena & Lily: http://www.serenaandlily.com/Decor/Decor-Lighting-Ace-Double-Sconce-Hand-Rubbed-Brass What Is Your Design Confession? |

Ehh, didn't find this one super helpful. I think most of us know WHAT to do, but HOW to do it in a small space is the hard part, and isn't really addressed here. Put your shoes outside? Ok, what if I live in a co-op and am not allowed to have things outside my door? A table for your keys, wallet, etc.? That's great, but what if a table won't fit in my tiny doorway. I'd love some ideas on out of the box ways to accomplish this stuff. Especially since he says you can do it in any size space. One Minute Tip: Create a Basic Landing Strip Apartment Therapy Videos |

I figured comments will be of the bashing nature because people think this is up there with chevrons and faux taxidermy "trends", HOWEVER, I love these chairs and own a few. I first saw one about 8 years ago and vowed that I would one day have one. So I was proud when I was able to actually get my own place and purchase one. Now I have a couple and I think they are so great for small NYC apartments like mine b/c they cut down on visual clutter are pretty. I was not "trying" to look hip or "design" a space (though not sure what's wrong with the latter), I simply really like the way they look. Modern Classics: The Ghost Chair |

Avocado Egg Salad!!! I replace most of the mayo w/ avocado and it's amazing!! The other thing I like to do with eggs (also involves an avocado) is smash/spread some avocado on a piece of toast and top with a fried egg. But I bet it would also be good with some slices of hard boiled egg on top. Saved by a Hard Boiled Egg Cooking for One |

Where is the bathroom mirror from? Very cool..and you found a way to make those vintage tiles (which can look awful) work in this room. Brenna's Farewell to Her Single Girl Home House Tour |

A slightly different answer, but I live in NYC so this is a valuable one...we left our folder of take-out menus in a drawer for the next people. We were moving neighborhoods and didn't need them anymore. Even though Menupages has everything on there, we would only keep the physical menus of places we liked, so we were able to pass along menus of places that had our stamp of approval for the new tenants. Dupont5 beat me to punch, but definitely check out Emily Henderson's post. I think those chairs would look amazing with a deep turqouise blue linen or tweed!! More Info On & Cost to Reupholster Chairs? Good Questions |

There is definitley room for a coffee table in front of the couch. However, instead, maybe do 2 ottoman's that can serve as storage, coffee tables or side tables (something on casters or wheels would be great). Also, not sure that tall open shelving unit is doing much for you. I'd take that away and put an end table there with shelving above it. I also agree about using roll down shades or panels, but just two light panels on either side of the couch as opposed to the three that are hanging in the middle. WOW, love this home! Were those green tiles (in the kitchen and bath) original to the home or did you pick them out? They are amazing and now I wish I'd picked that color for my kitchen tiles. Such impact. Kristina & Tyler's Whitley Heights Home House Tour |

@PUGLOVEATL: Yes, people are snarky and elitist on here lately ("Oh yawn, I'm soooo in the know that I can't possibly look at another chevron"). Perhaps because a lot of us on here spend a lot of time on home decor sites/stores/mags, we tend to see things repeated a lot. However, to a "regular" person, a lot of these ideas would be interesting to them, since they aren't jaded. I think the space is nice, and I'm a woman. Have I seen an acrylic chair before? Sure. I have I seen reclaimed wood before, sure. But I've also seen mountains, sunsets and fresh flowers before and can still appreciate them over and over again. I think the designer did a good job pulling everything together. Jared's Graphic-Organic "Male Model" House Tour |
