Congrats on the cottage! Why don't you put a pocket door in at the bathroom doorway. That way you have room for a sink inside the bathroom along the wall where the door currently swings. It reminds me of the old tenement buildings where the bathtub is in the kitchen. I went to look at an apartment in the city with a friend that had such a set up. I actually live in a 400 sq ft apt with my boyfriend. Originally it was my place when I moved to the city. I did so much work to it and love the neighborhood so much (and that fact that I walk to work) that when we decided to move in together I just didn't want to leave. We thought we would give it a shot living there together, knowing that we could always move. A year later things are still going great! One thing that has helped tremendously is having wireless headphones for the tv so the volume isn't an issue if one of us is up later than the other. I'm super organized so everything has its spot. We joke that itâ€™s like living on a sailboat where there is a compartment for everything. The best part is we only keep things around that we really love or need. I think it would probably be much harder if we started off in one bedroom then downsized to a studio, but since this is all we know of living together I canâ€™t complain at all. I'm with jede on the headphones... they are life savers!!! My boyfriend and I are in a 400 sq ft studio. We love the apartment and our neighborhood so we are really quite happy there :) Our space is pretty well set up though so that we've been able to divide the apartment into very distinct areas. Looks great! But I'm curious to hear how your Fedora tiles hold up. I purchased the Oatmeal about 6 months ago and could not be more disappointed. Within 2-3 months my tiles began to pill like crazy and now they look awful. It's just me in my apartment too so they don't get heavy use. Has anyone else had similar issues? goonie I think they just closed the existing sheers to cover the black window frames. You can see the change from the first picture to the second. I have black windows in my apt too and I HATE them. I've heard of people painting them as well but since I'm renting I'm not able to.
