Christmas!! I haven't gone a Christmas without my IKEA bag in years! It totes the gifts to and from the large family gatherings SO easily!

Oh I wish that I would have seen this!

Boodles gin - Tito's vodka - Homemade Kahlua. That's what I'm stocked with 100% of the time, and they have never let me down!

It does sound slightly judgmental, but I'd encourage you to re-read some of the other comments again.

I'm also in the mid-west, by NO means affluent. My fiance decided he wanted to learn to cook (since I work two jobs, and am therefor not home some evenings). We order this because the ingredients are pre-measured (helping us save money by not just buying a bottle of mirin, or an entire fajita spice... or impulse purchases from random grocery store walkthroughs), and because it has such clear instructions on what to do. The meals are quick, there's a huge variety, and they incorporate a lot of different methods. Every single delivery meal that I've had has had leftovers, so for me it's actually a dinner for him and I, plus a lunch. They really do great on portion sizes for the calories (all under 700).

So yes, we do still go to the store, but we go less and have a new appreciation for how much food we can actually get for $10.

Better Than Take-Out & Quicker Than the Grocery Store: I Tried Blue Apron's Meal Delivery Service Product Review

I do Blue Apron every week, and I actually disagree on the leftovers bit. I've had about 6 weeks worth of meals now, and every single one had leftovers (even the salads). I've saved money on this in several ways; not buying ingredients that I'd only need to use once and by not visiting the stores as often. I do EVERYTHING on a budget and this has helped me come in $20 or more per week under budget. I was shocked, but it's been working for my family. I've also lost 4lbs. which I definitely attribute to the low calorie menu.

I made a whiskey infused butter for my roast chicken and it came out amazingly well!

I just whisked room temp butter (half a stick) and about 1/2 cup of whiskey together with salt and pepper until blended. Slid under the skin of the chicken, roasted for a few hours and boom! It tasted amazing, not too strong but VERY good crunch on the skin. Loved it!

The flavor is wonderful. Medium strength, but I would almost say more pure of a flavor, if that makes sense. Once you make your own, it's really hard to go back to buying ever again, it's THAT good! :)

Sony does more often times provide great quality at a great price, but for most gamers, the choice is "what do you like to play". If you love dramatic, story driven, and a mix between single player or multi player games, PS4 is probably your best bet. If you love multiplayer and can't have it any other way, then go with what most of your friends have (which, let's face it, is probably an XBOX).

A friend is thinking of doing something like this with carved table numbers for a wedding; do they smell too "gourdy" or "pumpkiny" once carved open? Thanks!

Please tell me those 'old' materials were donated! Wow, honestly the 'before' kitchen is about twenty times nicer than any kitchen I've ever lived with. Don't get me wrong, the upgrades are beautiful, I just hope the originals didn't go to waste - some people (including myself) would have LOVED those!

To me, upwards of 11$ per square foot is not really 'budget friendly'.

When I re-did my kitchen I went to the local art schools (several colleges close by have ceramic and glass studios) and asked them to save their scraps. Several weeks later there were tons from each location. It does take a lot more work to match the scraps and then organize them as an actual backsplash, but it's beautiful, eco friendly and definitely not 11$ per sqft.

I think 3 and 4 are switched. The IKEA planter is the one with the green circle. They also have larger ones, I have three of them growing mini citrus trees!

You can find baby lemon trees on Gurneys.com - though they will probably take another year or so to actually grow fruit. I have dwarf lemon, lime, and fig trees right now (growing in the "self watering" pots from IKEA). They LOVE the sunlight so try to give them as much as possible. I can't wait to see mine actually grown fruit!
