I travel to Barca every year (for business and pleasure) and have had plenty of time to explore inside and outside the center of the city.

I live in NYC, i feel at home in La Ribera and El Born. I also like of L'Eixample, but as it's such a large area, certain blocks have more charm than others. Barceloneta is very quiet, but has a culture all it's own and some say it's not as "pretty" as other areas (historically, Barceloneta was a separate working class town, made up of fishermen and their families).

A good friend (American) and his wife (Spanish) just had their first child and live in Poblenou. He says that they're close enough to the action, the beach, events and venues to find entertainment. But also a bit removed, so they have peace. Might be worth checking out.

I would stay away from Raval, at least for now. There appears to be tension between barrio and politicians. On my most recent trip old buildings hung banners in protest of new hotels. As well, the prostitution has become more apparent.

When i was there just a month ago, i looked at real estate, and there were many neighborhoods i had never heard of. The city is expanding again and quickly, so getting an agent might be a good idea.

This is great! I recently moved into a Brownstone apt that has an alcove room off of the Bedroom. It's about the same size as this example, has a window as well, and i too have turned this into my "closet".

I was considering going a different route with color, but i love this idea of a neutral color.

I love using a light home fragrance spray every few days. I use it on my floor cushions and my sheets and pillows. There are many brands out there that range from simple scents to decadent prices…but a little can go a long way.

Hoarding, unlike being a pack rat or simply stocking up, is a mental illness similar too ocd and substance abuse. Hoarders are usually triggered by a trauma and then begin to hold on to everything for comfort. Hoarders also have a tendency to be Agoraphobics.

Years ago, I helped a good friend clean out his mother's apartment and you can't even begin to imagine the way in which she lived: Newspapers piled to the ceiling going back 10 years, broken windows never repaired (which resulted in mold on the walls due to the elements), rooms packed to the ceiling and door with unopened packaged clothes from HSN, computers sealed in their boxes, and who knows what else.

Then there was the dust and the nests of roaches in the wallpaper...and she lived amongst all that! It was shocking.

Hoarding also isn't limited to things purchased: A friend recently had a tenant who hoarded stray cats.

Though i'm sure it's easy enough to google, could you please include the hyperlink in the post? Would also be nice to have some highlights (descriptions, links, etc.) on specific products!

Recently I moved into a new place, and i'm currently on the hunt for some new floor cushions or poufs. I've always loved their look and feel.

Yet, aside from the traditional Moroccan style, I've found there aren't many being carried this season, which is very dissapointing. While West Elm and Crate & Barrel do have large floor cushions, there isn't a lot of variety in the color or materials. Not to mention they're a bit expensive.

Anyone have any other leads?

This house was featured on the Prospect Heights House Tour, and to see it in person was real treat. This house is beautiful, warm and the owner's fabulous art is everywhere!

Luxury in the home for me is about stimulating the senses:
-integrating juicy colors in my decorating
-scented linen spray
-varied lighting and candles
-good music
-soft luxe sheets and pillows.

Our landlord said it was totally cool as long as we gave him the brand swatches of the color we used. We assumed it was in case the next tenant liked the color, he would have the color on hand.

Of course, we haven't painted yet :)
