I should have considered using my first husband's toothbrush for this before we split up. That would give me nice memories.

I refrained from making a comment first go round at viewing this because I couldn't think of anything positive to say at all. And the negative comments floating around in my head were a bit overwhelming. But now that I've read prior comments, I see that I'm not alone.
Those upper curtains would drive me nuts.
:)
Hope you enjoy it though.

I guess ex-husbands aren't considered design regrets, are they.
I guess I don't have any design regrets. I'm always very cautious about design decisions and wind up loving the end results.

Very well done. I'm just not keen on that particular shade of green. But hey, it's gorgeous compared to the before, which was NOT cute at all.

My first husband would not allow family photos in the main rooms of the house because he didn't want just anyone having access to our family. I thought he was a nut. One of the first things I did once we parted ways was to pull out my favorite family photos. I display them all over my home, on wall, bookshelves, refrigerator,... I love seeing the faces of loved ones. Why not surround yourself with your most cherished mementos?

Ahhh, Ashland! I used to live there and yes, the views are amazing! Much of this house reminds me of the little craftsman house that I had there.
I like what they have done with the rental and it looks like there's a lot of love and joy there.
Congrats!

Normally I would freak over the painted wood, but for some reason, this is one paint job I really like. Good job!

I've used contact paper on things like this before. Turned out great. You can change out the hardware and add trim pieces to spiff it up even more. Have fun. They're free and ya can't mess up free.

I've been carrying cell phones since the mid '90's and I have never ever lost, broken, cracked, waterlogged, or smashed my cell phone.... ooops... except for the time I totally threw my phone at my ex-husband and it flew into tiny pieces all over the drive way. But then again, that was HIS phone as he had voiced to me with graphic language that all the neighbors could hear.

Well, those silly neighbors. If they complain, how do they expect to get invited over to play in the new treehouses?

They're gorgeous if I can just get past the gross part. But if it were composed of my loved ones hair, I have to admit, I'd cherish it.

Don't you think the felt will be a problem with attracting the cat fur? I have cats also and I know how their fur gets into everything.
My cats do not claw the sofa or walls or floors or me when I make sure they have a fresh corrugated cardboard scratch pad laced with catnip out for them. They scratch away on those things and never are tempted to scratch elsewhere. Why should they when they have their precious cardboard scratch pad. They are quite possessive of these gadgets so I make sure each cat has her own pad.
We recently settled on our comfy durable sofas and wound up with a set in leather. They're great! Very sturdy and massively comfy. And the best ever is how easily the cat hair just dusts right off. Yay!
