Even though there is a nice desk in the second bedroom, I generally work from the kitchen table. I tend to agree that staring at a wall makes a boring workspace, and watching the whole apartment feels better. Although it is nice to have an office with a door to take any work calls.

Working from Home: Where Do You Actually Work?

Currently there's a kitchen door cabinet fallen off its hinge. Small fix but feels like such a chore!

Also, there are cassette adaptors that plug into your iPod and play out your car speakers. Maybe you already tried that, was a cheap fix for me.

What Are You Putting off Repairing or Replacing in Your Home?

Moving every year or so will definitely helps ask that question "do I really want to move this up and down flights of stairs?" That can help to curb the desire to purchase something. I've also noticed a home looks great when everything has its own place. If I don't have a place in mind for a new item, I shouldn't buy it.

Great article!

Fighting the Feeling of "Should"

I'm an avid reader and still like to slim down my books once in awhile. A few years back I heard of the "revolving bookshelf" theory. Meaning there aren't any books on your shelf that you wouldn't read or reread again. There are a lot of books that are not for me, and I'm so happy to donate these to people who will appreciate them more. If I've had a book for a few years and have not read it yet, I probably will not be reading it anytime soon.

However, I do believe in keeping extras of your favorite books. I love to buy cheap paperback copies of my favorites and hand them out to friends.

One thing I would add to the list: perfumes. There's a million little gift perfumes taking up space in my bathroom that I've never used.
