uhh, don't toss the old medicine in the garbage. Take it to your local pharmacist who can dispose of it.

We dumped the TV a few years ago and couldn't be happier. I think we're a happier family after doing so.

Like the couches. I wonder if there's anything similar -- also if they have storage underneath.

Fabulous idea for a classroom especially if the pockets are clear.

When we built the suite for my mother-in-law, her bedroom needed a closet. We purchased the PAX system from IKEA and it has turned out really well. A couple of thoughts:

1. If you're making the PAX wardrobe go to the ceiling, don't plan on moving it again.

2. Make sure you're on a level surface, if you get the sliding doors or sliding pant holder.

3. Do an inventory of your clothes to see what you truly need/want. We found many clothes could be sent to the local thrift store.

If you're in Canada, RONA has unfinished pine benches like the one shown in the photo. Not too expensive -- around $90 plus tax.

I painted mine dark chocolate brown using Benjamin Moore paint (the Aura branc which was amazing).

The framed recessed are interesting. Is there a way you can provide a better photo of them? I'd like to see how you built it.

I built a desk for my daughter in her closet. It's worked out really well as I can close the drapes and her artistic mess is out of sight.

As someone who works 40 hours per week from home, I'm not convinced I want to look at myself in those mirrors while working. There are some days I just don't want to be reminded that I'm working in sweats and a t-shirt.

I love the walls. Any idea how the OSB was finished? It looks so clean. How were the walls put together?

When I was at university, we (five women) rented a beautiful early 20th century house. It had a HUGE kitchen. We put a lovely couch in it. We loved it. The couch was inevitably the place to hang out during parties and early morning coffee sessions. If I had the room now, I would put in something similar.

I think good design enables you to create wonderful experiences with family and friends. Our couch certainly did that.

I'm just so glad to hear there are other serial rearrangers out there. I'm not alone!

My latest adventure in serial rearranging happened only last week. I was frustrated by our messy and chaotic at-home office and completely rearranged it while my husband was out at a meeting. He was a bit surprised when he returned because I had not only rearranged it but also ripped out the carpet (couldn't stand the poop-brown colour any more).

I don't know what I'll do with the floor yet, but I'm sure inspiration will strike.

Love it. Could you share your process of stripping and sanding the cupboards and then what kind of paint you used?

Many thanks,

I love where you are going with this.

A couple of baby/child thoughts. Do you have a location for baby/toddler's toys and accessories (ie creams, shampoos)? I found there was (and continues to be) a constant parade of toys, cups etc in our bathroom.

Best of luck with your remodel!

(BTW, baby and mom baths are the BEST) ;->

Love the FIRE sign in the fireplace as I really hate fake wood and stones in gas fireplaces. Wonder where she got it?
Also would love to see AT Canada.

Most, if not all, of HGTV Canadian design shows (ie Sarah's House) can be found online if you google HGTV Canada. We don't have a TV but I still get to indulge in watching my favourite design shows.
