Polenta Versus Grits: What's the Difference?

Just buy the best Bernina you can afford. They have some very nice entry level models these days. My second choice would the great little basic Babylock machines. Mine is 8 years old, works great, and travels easily. My "Bernie" does not travel well, so the Babylock is great.

You don't have to be a professional. Take good measurements of your outdoor space. Buy a landscaping template (may be 5 bucks at any office supply store.) Draw - TO SCALE - on graph paper the dimensions of your yard. Start filling in plants, paths, etc with how you want the space to look, feel, and interact with the house. Find some indigenous plant materials and sketch on your plan. READ and understand the plants you've chosen and any hardscape materials. Here's where good research pays off. Eventually you'll find the right plants and materials. Fill them in on your plan, in color, and start working. Design process and research are very much the same inside and out. Plus, look around your community. Our local community college offers a very inexpensive, extremely helpful basic landscaping course. Hope to see your pics when you're done.

Hello. Anyone know where to get the simple laptop stand? Really would free up my small desk area. Thanks.

I've chosen a watercolor a friend bought for me many years ago. It will go in a frame I made around the same time. Already have the the hanger - just need to get the glass cut. Will go over my desk and make me happy every time I look at. This relatively small task makes me feel very accomplished.

If I post my major goal project here, it's added motivation. Moved into a great apartment 4 months ago, and most of the space is in fairly good shape organizationally (kitchen, bedroom, bath, porch, pre-move clothing & book purge), EXCEPT...my so-called office/sewing area/living room/storage closet. It's pretty much a nightmare. My goal: hang shelving in closet and fill it; tame the paper; create a great sewing space. Overall all goal of my Cure: pare down all the stuff down, way way down - give it away, get in the recycling, just get it out.

And oh, Evita, I hear you about the dog accessory organization. Add the muddy paws, my own winter gear, and it's quite the busy little entry...
