To descend from the general to the particular for a minute, here's one thing I definitely believe: furniture that resembles any part of the human body is creepy. Couches shaped like lips, chairs shaped like hands or heads, are terrible ideas. Three dimensional puns are the worst kind.

Fine! My attachment to books is stupid. But if someone gave me one of these hideous objects because I am a bibliophile they'd sink a long long way in my estimation. It would be about as thoughtful as giving someone a taxidermied kitten because they love animals.

There already is a tea-making device with all the ease of a drip coffee machine. It's called a teapot.

I was sad to read that you're not supposed to compost citrus or tomatoes. In the summer that's pretty much what I eat.

Convert to greyscale, max out contrast using Curves, Brightness/Contrast or Levels, convert to duotone, set to monotone, pick your color, Bob's your uncle.

Love your kitchen, esp. the open shelves and those countertops. I've bookmarked Fireslate for when I'm finally able to redo my kitchen. The whole house is wonderful.

If you think my shoes are disgusting, wait until you see my be-bunioned, broken-toed, arch-fallen feet. They look so great with my party dress. And of course without the orthotics I can't stand comfortably for more than five minutes. What a fun time! Thanks for inviting me!
