My husband and I installed IKEA cabinets last summer in our home. We love them. The door and drawer hardware is great, they're easy to clean and are holding up beautifully. We built the boxes and hung them ourselves — a weekend project that saved us hundreds in labor. We got high quality granite as a remnant through a contracting friend. I love this home. To me, it's a great mix of light and airy, while still feeling welcoming and comforting. I think it's a hard balance to achieve without a space ending up stuffy-seeming. I'll echo others in saying I love that this is an attainable, affordable look without seeming straight out of an Ikea showroom or like store. Is your couch the Ikea Manstad (http://www.ikea.com/us/en/catalog/products/90198978/#/80198974)? Looks like it might be a little more grey, than blue?
