What app do you use to take notes at school? Evernote? And do you have a favorite PDF viewer that lets you annotate your notes? I use Evernote on my Galaxy phone but not to it's fullest. I guess I need to dive in too. Thanks for the article!

2/24/11 01:47 PM is a great free site to input your recipes and find out their nutritional value. It's been a great eye opener for me and I've been able to adjust some of my usual recipes to be healthier yet just as tasty! I agree with heatherk that having a food scale is really important when you want accurate calculations. Also watch out for food entries on the daily plate that have not been verified by their management. I have run across some items that are not consistant with the manufacturers information.

I'm using and I love it. I know exactly what I'm eating including micronutrients like calcium, vit D and potassium. It's got a cool 'search by nutrient' feature so when I'm low in say, Vit D I can find foods to fit the bill. I can also log my blood sugar levels, exercise and print reports to take to my doctor. And no Ads!!

Oh, and you can put in your own recipes and meals so the things you eat all the time are quick to enter. It's really kept me on track with my eating--I eat less because I log everything--and still keep my nutrient levels up. It's great!

If staining is the problem because the enamel is older and porous try cleaning as well as you can with your dish soap and a scrubbie sponge. Rinse well and then fill it with an tablespoon of an all fabric (oxygenating) bleach and hot water. I use All Fabric Bleach by Amway. It will make your sink sparkle!

I use . It's got alot of food choices, great nutritional info and you can put in your own recipes and know the nutritional content. And yes, you can choose portion sizes for anything you eat. It will be a big help to you as you transition from someone making your food for you and making the choices yourself. Also, put everything on your grocery list in your 'Favorites' folder and then put in any recipes that you like to make. You'll know how nutritious your recipes are and can make ingredient adjustments if you need. Plus its a free site!

A fave of mine is an old standby detergent by Amway/Quixtar---Sa8 -- been using it for years, works great, use just a 1/4cup or less. Regarding Tide. A friend of mine lives in the Ojai area of CA on a ranch. All her life their waste water has gone into the ground via leach lines (sp?). For many years they used Sa8 soap w/ no problem. And had alot of grasses, flowers, etc growing where those leach lines are. Then, for what ever reason her mom started using Tide. Now where those leach lines are on their land nothing will grow, not even weeds. I'm excited to hear how your washing machine conversion goes--my husband and I were talking about doing the same thing at our house.

If you're looking for good sturdy boxes check out small to mid sized businesses near you in that non-descript business park. Manufacturing companies, resellers of anything many times have large shipments come in and have quantites of the same size box--makes for easier u-haul packing.
