With or without the drying cycle on, my plastics don't come out fully dry. WITHOUT the drying cycle on, however, everything other than the plastics is still dry.

I've gotten in the habit of never turning on the drying cycle and find that it works just fine that way. If some tupperware needs extra time to dry, I air dry it in my dish rack.

No reverb is termed "dead" in sound engineering, in context of rooms. It's good for recording if all reverb will be added after tracking, but otherwise undesirable. Before digital production became really popular the best studios built tracking rooms to have a pleasing amount of reverb, depending on what instruments were being tracked, of course.

At home a dead room would be spooky. It's weird to hear yourself talk without any reverb at all. My bet is that no one would actually want that kind of thing in their home.

There's room for this product if it's a tablet with internal specs equal to that of a netbook, at a minimum. But I think it's a nonstarter as a subscription device at that price point.

It's common with SF Victorian and Edwardian homes to have a "color consultant" determine how to paint the exterior and trim. In the Haight, Castro, Noe Valley, and other neighborhoods where there are a lot of long-term owners you get paint schemes that express questionable taste.

Let's face it, SF isn't known for its visual arts scene. My personal opinion is that life is easy and an easy life makes bad art and enforces bad taste.

That said, the picture here looks pretty good compared with what I've seen in these neighborhoods. And no matter what, it shouldn't cause neighborhood controversy. It's not like it's had thatch glued to the facade.

Neighbors: lay off!

Katy: you provoke. There's a ton of politics in both pictures you've painted, and it sounds like you're being passive aggressive leaving them here on AT. Maybe on your own blog instead?

What about a keyboard tray? I see almost no mention of them these days, though they're essential to getting your keyboard and mouse in a position that helps avoid wrist strain. I think that should be #2 above, if ordered by importance.

We're currently in progress on exactly this solution to get rid of our dreaded Time Warner cable box and service. Ever since we got the Time Warner HD DVR (made by Scientific Atlanta) we've been less than thrilled about the service and experience, though Time Warner has been good about adding HD channels and on demand movies.

Live TV is the only thing you cannot get using Apple TV, so if you're into sports, politics, or morning talk shows, this solution isn't for you. We're not that household, though. As it stands, buying every show we watch in HD (if available, otherwise in SD) would save us about $400/year over Time Warner. Add Boxee to the mix and we get a reasonable and free channel flipping solution too.

Re: Netflix. I'm sure it's great, but it's older content, and the price might not be that great a deal compared to the iTunes store, or the free movies available on Hulu through Boxee.

Re: Xbox. Again, I'm sure it's great, but this is really the gamers solution, or at a minimum the invested Windows user's solution. Apple products integrate easily and well together, regardless of whether they're software or hardware. Microsoft is generally not a hardware manufacturer, however, so Xbox is about the only device you'll ever see from them. The rest is up for grabs, and there are no clear winners when tied to Windows. Apple is clearly an early winner with its iTunes Store (for music, TV, movies, podcasts, etc.), and other factors like Unix support make it a platform and suite of products that will continue to be relevant for years to come.

if you go to the grocery store too often does that mean you're not eating the food you buy, or forgetting to buy the food you need?

please update this post so we can determine whether you're a crackpot or just wrote a confusing post.

I've had bad luck moving IKEA furniture, and disassembly/reassembly is not advised with almost any of their products. Buyer beware with used IKEA products.

I'm looking for someone who can sew custom shades (probably roller or Roman) given material I purchase myself. I'm in Brooklyn and would prefer someone in Brooklyn or Manhattan.

Anyone have any leads?
