this space is awesome! you should submit it to the front & main blog (I think I spy some west elm goodies in there). I don't usually comment on the ones I vote for, but this place is job the perfect combination of real-person-lived-in and beautifully decorated! Emily's Brownstone Studio Small Cool Contest |

this definitely is how i try to eat! i'm not great about staying on top of that when eating out, but when purchasing groceries i try to be vigilant. it helps that the coop where i mostly shop has a very small meat selection that is all sustainably raised ... the prices are slightly lower than similar products at the farmer's market or other stores, but it's not exclusively local. on the slightly OK side, frozen pierogis ... they are SO GOOD with some quick fried onion or shallot and sour cream, and they don't feel too insanely indulgent. on the pure evil side, generic (not perdue) chicken nuggets with cheddar cheese inside - 100% terrible for me, the environment, chickens - and then eating the whole package (3.5 servings) using toothpicks as if they were canape. thankfully the food coop i now shop at doesn't carry anything remotely like them, so i've been able to avoid nugget temptation for over a year now. to be fair as a 5' person with a small brooklyn apartment kitchen i have to climb on a chair or ladder to retrieve any appliance i don't use daily and most pantry items, and i haven't broken anything yet (anything in my body, i've probably broken a cup or 2). however, it's possible that the arrangement in this photo was intended for styling purposes and is not actually like that ... i think that all the finishes, etc are pretty, which is what the rescources are for anyways Get the Look: Modern Organic Kitchen Style & Renovation Resources |

Pretend you're moving! I actually am in the next couple of months to a barely bigger place, into which I am carving storage so I'm purging all my things in advance. I've realized that I've held on to things that I don't wear, but I'm completely unwilling to actually take time, effort, etc to actually MOVE stuff I don't need somewhere else. So imagine you're moving when you go through your stuff - if you wouldn't move it, you don't need it! 5 Basic Tips for Decluttering Your Closet |

lemon zest (or any other citrus zest) makes everything better ... i always zest a lemon over any green salad, the oils in the skin really bring out the flavors of everything else and just have the most amazing aroma The Ingredient You Should Use More Often |

my version of a "fancy fix" is asking my grandpa to do it. "just enough" fix is when i do it myself or ask my bf or dad ... cleaning is another story though, no matter how hard i try, i need a professional to "deep clean" my place a couple times a year!
