I think: whatever works for your relationship is the best. If I hear about snoring, bad bed-habits and stuff, I say: split up and create separate bedrooms if it bothers you that much. On the onther hand, despite the snoring and the bouncing in to eachother during the night, I wouldn't wanna miss sleeping with my love... For me the physical contact / sexual stuff is so important, I NEED to be together during the night. I don't know it's because of my character or because of us not spending so much time together during the days... I'm glad he thinks the same way about this stuff. In our group of friends we have a couple that sleeps separately, and they actually enjoy the fact that it's not a 'given thing' to be together during nights, and hey, I get that. But it's not for us. Me and my friend help eachother to start and finish difficult tasks by just doin' them together: I spend a day at her place helping out ("No, you can easily throw it out if you didn't need this the last three years") and then she spends a day at my place for support ("That's lovely, you SHOULD frame it! Continue while I buy a frame"). Even in an evening per person you can get so much done! And, one of the best things about this solution (and about this one-minute-advice) is to see that lots of people have the same pile of tasks waiting... Wahahaaaah: SO MUCH FUN reading al these comments about the duvet-cover stress in life! It can be a tough job, yes (it takes up to THREE minutes!!), but on the other hand: I read about big / hard / useless tasks and projects here all the time... :) Go change the sheets people! In our household (man, woman) there are just two types of socks: thick (sporty) and thin ones. We both wear the same size and always wear dark grey socks. So after line-drying, I just make pairs of thick and thin socks and put them on either the left or the rigt side of the sock drawer and I'm done. Lonely socks stay on the line 'till next time and always find a brother. Awful! Wasn't it an option to raise it outside the building and than pull it in througt a window? Or is that just a Dutch thing to do in these cases? Hope you buy a great and fitting sofo now. I would definitely measure things around the house, AND your old sofa: where was is too big? How many centimeters? You migt get an idea of the required measurements for your new sofa that way...
