There are good relationships and bad relationships. Good ones can end too. Sometimes two people just weren't meant to be together. Afterwards, usually they remain friends or at least acquaintances. Why not keep a letter or two from that experience?

Maybe the real question here is: Would you keep something from a bad relationship? And then of course you have to ask:

What defines a bad relationship? It's never just "oh we didn't get along". It's generally something having to do with too many compromises, and an overall feeling of losing one's sense of self in that relationship. Keeping a memento from something like this for the long run may not be healthy. On the other hand, keeping a memento for the period of grieving following the relationship may be healthy. It's a balance.

I had a couple items from a bad relationship that I kept around - mostly as a reminder of how f***ed up a relationship can be. The day I met my present partner, I went home and threw those items away, and it was a great cleansing feeling.

I made thekitchn recipe for pork shoulder last night. I think I will make a blended pork and cheese and shallot filled batch of tortellini today...and I'll still have enough pork left over for carnitas.

Says a lot about our society that all these churches are being sold/abandoned. Also says a lot that people have enough money to convert them into luxury homes.

Do you have any idea how rare petrified wood is? This is a natural resource that should be protected - much like an endangered animal. Humans. You build yourself a house that will last 30 years tops, and you want to put a petrified wood counter top inside? How wasteful.

The black/white combo really pops and to me can end up adding a severe tone to a room, but the navy/white combo? swoon.
