I would suggest moving the desk to the bay window between the chairs, facing the room. The desk legs and chair legs seem to gel really well by what I can see. You could possibly hide the computer towards the wall so it is not plainly seen. You might need some anti glare screening on the window so it does not affect the computer screen.
Then swap the couch and the TV and you can watch TV from the kitchen too.
The bookcase needs to be painted to go with the room and moved away all together.

Very Nice ! Even I was surprised at 300 sq ft - because others have larger spaces in 300 sq ft. Just a thought, can't the desk do double duty as dining table ?
