Slow cooker is such an overkill when it comes to time and electricity.
Only two rules apply:
1)The milk has to be slightly warmer than your body when you put cultures(old yogurt).
2)It has to remain around that temperature for 4hrs+. A warm hoodie will do the trick.

My mom has been doing this everyday as long as I can remember. Don't remember buying yogurt either. And she didn't even wrap the container with any insulating material. No thermometer, heating pads or fancy gadget.

Florescent lighting is the worst. I was put in a residential school with hundreds of bare florescent tube lights shining upon us from 5AM to 10PM. Harshest light to wake up or to got to sleep. I grew up in India where quite a few have solid teak hardwood furniture that is custom built and hand polished meticulously, marbles and granites of all kinds and colors, all that bathing in the ugliest blue hue of the florescent nightmare. I forced my mom to change all to warm lights yet she won't allow me to change the kitchen.
I am an Indian myself and am bewildered that some of my closest friends, family and all others can't stand warm lights???WHAAAT? I simply have not met an Indian(among a few thousand) who likes warm light, I am not stereotyping/alienating/generalizing my own kind but it is just the raw fact.

I think fullness and lasting is two different things. For instance, little oatmeal makes me full but very hungry after 2 hrs. Fruits are overrated since there are one of the species that are heavily curated by their sweetness. Most real watermelon varieties are full of seeds and almost no sweet. 100s of banana species have simply been eradicated due to selective farming, most of them being not sweet. In the US, most supermarkets have one variety of banana, go to some tropical country with ethnic background and see what they have. Fruits are natural and packed with nutrients so they must be good, not so true. Rapeseeds are packed with Omega-3 but they are also poisonous.
Besides veggies are much more potent in terms of nutrition. Veggies are far more lasting than fruits,
@Rural and rueful, LOL, "Its backed by meat council"? Its universal truth that meat doesn't have carbs. Hence their glycemic index is 0. It can't give you a sugar crash. Meat is more calorie dense than any other real food and anyone would agree they keep full and lasting.

I can see the painstaking choices and decisions you made to buy/place the things you have. The radio and the plant box, where do you get it.

Don't like metal bedframes. Decent decor of the kitchen given its a basic rental house kitchen.

Zen vibe to it, no doubt. But the rug and pillow cases seem a little misplaced and makes the room look even smaller than it is.
Workplace looks productive. Like the contemporary furniture.

your living and bedroom has cozy written all over it but your kitchen is a little disappointing.
Please put the dirty brush under the sink not over it and I know you can find badass soap dispensers in Germany. I am not sure if its the photo but the green wall seems to have poor paint job. Colors are confused here with black counter green wall, white cupboards.
knife/spoon rack seems to be ancient not in a good way. I don't like tile splash backs with massive grooves that collect grease on its grouts but thats just me and I wonder why don't they make seamless tiles.
