Lamp aside, I think it's hilarious that you've got the painting of Kramer from "The Letter" episode on your wall!

Don't forget the yard. If you normally mow the lawn but are gone for a length of time, just hire someone to cut it while you are away. The last thing I want to do after a relaxing–or not–trip is to get out the mower!

What a wonderful way to support your friend. Beyond the meals, I would suggest bringing over some light snacks. She may not even feel like reheating anything but a quick treat may be a nice alternative.

I always make my sauce in a large, deep saute pan, rather than a saucepan. When the pasta is cooked and drained I just add it to the saute pan and heat it up for 2-3 minutes while stirring it together. The large, flat surface of the pan allows even incorporation and keeps the pasta from accidentally breaking. It coats the pasta perfectly and the entire dish is hot and ready to eat.

I've gotten so good at it that friends are now asking for advice on the subject. I might one or two evenings making a few dishes but then I have food for weeks and I don't feel obligated to eat only leftovers.

I made this last night because I had a bunch of free steamer clams on hand. OMG, it was fabulous and easy! I couldn't get enough of the broth and the seasoning was just right, I wouldn't change a thing on this recipe and I am already craving it the next day.

I love the use of bright turquoise in the bedroom - fabulous. I guess I'm not quite sure I would consider this to be "small", given the second floor and 3 bedrooms plus outdoor space.
