i've used one for 4 years and have a saucer base, with no wheels, so it doesn't run away. i'm at my computer quite a bit (graphic design) and if the everything else is in check—monitor height, keyboard and mouse position, you should be good. i got mine because i have a crap lower back. oh, one last thing: buy a Pozidrive screwdriver or bit. The screws are not Philips, and though you can use that type, you'll often strip the screws. I had to go to a few places to get one (small town), but it was very worth it. Apartment Therapy Chicago | Look! Putting Together Our IKEA Kitchen |

This last summer we completely gutted our kitchen and I put together the Abstract line in glossy white. I found the ikeafans site to be super helpful, especially the step by step photos and the 'what you learned during installation' section. A pal had a custom kitchen done at twice the price of ours, and the quality is FAR better with IKEA. The hinges, the doors and drawer gliders...so solid. Good choice. this works great. especially if you have a lot of old frames with different lengths of hanging wire or want to do a whole wall of mix and match stuff with small pieces and plates, etc. you can see exactly where everything will go. quick and painless.
