First and formost cute, cozy home. Love your style. I do have a suggestion. Lower the arrangement of framed photos above the couch. Spread them out a little. Pull out the turquoise carpet and just have the couch front legs on the rug. It will make the space full bigger and not as cramped. IMO. ;) Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | Inspiration: Kim's Great Ideas for A Small Space |

The problem with wool rugs is the amount of fuzz balls you will find all over your home, so I concur with the person above on the Shaker Workshops rug. Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | Good Questions: Reasonably Priced Rugs Like This? Los Angeles |

1 -Stolen car (returned but stripped) and 1 broken into car (stereo, personal belongings and battery stolen) in front of our home so our light now stays ON! Suffice to say, we haven't had a problem since we started doing this two years ago. Apartment Therapy Chicago | Do You Leave Your Porch Light On? |

i am going to guess that since this is the first apartment likely money is not abundant. how about keeping as is. take the covers off the arms, that screams grandma. than pull a few inches from the wall and move those tables a few inches from the couch. you seem to have little clutter in your apartment so spread the stuff out rather than bunching together. next consider getting a new lampshade for that lamp on the left and a layer of a bright paint on the gold. also maybe a few colorful throw pillows and like the above reader move the pic in the white mat and lower the three dancing lady pics. just a suggestion ;) Apartment Therapy Chicago | Good Questions: Premade or Custom?#comments#comments |

In my opinon this would breed a frightened child who would have trauma for a long time. Likely because a parent willing to put a helmet on the kids' head is a little bit of a hypochondriac. Kids get nics, scratches and bruises, yes even on their heads. If you enforce a fear in them they're not going to learn the hard knocks (har har) in life. I was looking for a teak set for quite a while and settled on something to suffice but I did see a ton of inexpensive teak sets on craigslist in the last few weeks. I am in Sacramento but I would imagine there would be a better selection in L.A. Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | Good Questions: Local Resources for Outdoor Patio Furniture?Los Angeles |

I love it all! The bar area does feel a bit cluttered next to the shelves and the thing that's covering the bottom part of the shelf however it's realistic. We don't have to look like we live in a magazine. I also want to know about that art!!!!!!! Apartment Therapy New York | East #28: Randi in BK's Color Quirks |

Another suggestion, have you considered painting the top of your coffee table? The contrast with the white walls, frames and the rug with it's white elements makes me feel the room is a bit cold. Perhaps a dark navy, a rich orange or a dark red? Just a thought. Apartment Therapy Los Angeles | Good Questions: Side Table Suggestion?Los Angeles |

I got some awesome ones at Ross ( "you know dress for less") that are blue grey amd were 10 for $4.99. I am not sure of the brand but so far they are holding up great. They don't have clips though. I am super happy about this find and am going look for more in the great color I got too. Apartment Therapy New York | Huggable Hangers in the Test Lab |

The original tile; and paint the mantle. The slate looks common and you'll grow out of it in a year or two. All newer houses and apartments with fireplaces have that look. I just bought a Lane 1960's round coffee table off craigslist tonight for $40. It was a STEAL for me and I think the seller was glad to have it off his hands (moving). After several phone call exchanges failed plans to meet I finally got it. Yeah, there was nothing easy about finally getting it in my posession but I think that's the price you pay for a free advertising/selling site. We all are in agreement though that good communication with the sellers is key. If you get a weird vibe from the person just back off. I *love* my Craigslist.
